Limewash in Notting Hill ~Case Study

Following the completion of our limewash project in Notting Hill, we spoke with Main Contractors Penny Black Construction, a high-end property refurbishment company specialising in listed and non-listed flats and houses in central London, to understand how and why they might bring specialist decorators such as PTTG on board.

Swipe through to see how Penny Black found working with PTTG, then head to our website to read the full case study.

Limewash London Townhouse

Step inside this Notting Hill four-storey London Townhouse where PTTG carried out a full redecoration, including this beautifully lime-washed library and sitting room.

Our head limewash applicator used @bauwerkcolour to create those iconic cloud-like patterns on the ceiling. The result is a light, airy and contemporary London home that blends heritage and sustainable craft with modern living.

The light in a room changes with the season before anything else does.

As the days shorten, the lighting design does more of the work, deciding how the space feels once natural light starts fading by late-afternoon.

Every fitting, every switch, every warm bulb is planned long before the darker months actually arrive.

A room is easy to judge in daylight. The real test starts as the nights draw in earlier each week. In close collaboration with @yamstudios

Before the walls close over it, this is what's holding the room together.

The brick, wiring, the boards - none of it will stay visible once the room is finished.

The finished room will get all the attention, but everything that makes it stand is put in place right here, long before anyone else ever sees it.

Limewash in Notting Hill 🍨

We are delighted to share new photography from our Notting Hill Limewash Project, which PTTG decorated for main contractors Penny Black Construction and Interior Designers Yam Studios.

Following a full refurbishment of this Stucco fronted Townhouse in the prestigious West London area, PTTG came in to fully decorate the property, including application of @bauwerkcolour limewash on the ground floor, including on those curved walls, to give a feeling of calm and modern flow to this heritage home.

Stay tuned for more information on this stunning London limewash home

Behind a calm interior is serious planning.

This apartment in South Kensington required careful coordination to resolve acoustic, fire and layout challenges while maintaining a refined interior.

Sound insulation was introduced throughout the structure, while fire separation requirements were discreetly integrated into the design, including a concealed fire curtain built into a timber feature divider.

The goal was always the same: solve the technical demands properly, so the finished space feels simple, quiet and well considered.

Elevated living in the heart of South Kensington.

Before the purchase was complete, we were already shaping the future of this South Kensington apartment, guiding our client from pre-acquisition through to a flawlessly delivered, turn-key home.

Occupying the entire third floor of a Victorian conversion, the transformation was seamless.
