Two team captains, two great careers, two stellar cards: Here are the Derek Jeter and Paul Konerko cards from 2015 Topps Stadium Club. I love these because they mark the end of the players’ respective careers, as both Jeter and Konerko retired at the end of the 2014 season. Jeter’s card shows him exiting the Yankee Stadium dugout for the final time as an active player, and the Konerko shows him during his last home game. Fantastic images! (I know @yanxchick selected the Jeter image during her time working at Topps…did she choose the Konerko one as well?) Konerko’s retirement didn’t generate the kind of attention that Jeter’s did, for obvious reasons. But Jeter and the Yankees gave Paulie a nice tribute during the White Sox’ last series in the Bronx that season. Glad I got to watch both of these guys play! Two baseball cards from 2015 Topps Stadium Club — one showing Derek Jeter of the New York Yankees and the other showing Paul Konerko of the Chicago White Sox.

On this day in 2022, Aaron Judge became the sixth major leaguer to hit 60 homers in a season, with a 9th inning blast in the Yankees’ 9-8 victory over the Pirates. Here’s my painting of him peering out of the dugout on August 2, 2017, based on the photography of Paul Bereswill.

These feet needed a break after all the fun they had today at The National @nsccshow . Left our booth one time all day for a bathroom break.

Incredible day all around. Thank you to everyone who helped make the day so much fun.

See you Saturday at @greeniesportscards Booth 1338

This is what great teamwork looks like. CGC had the honor of displaying three of the most iconic holy grails in sports card collecting at Fanatics Fest. Hall of Famers, current athletes, mega stars, huge content creators, media outlets, and thousand of collectors, and sports fans checked out the CGC-Graded Grails Showcase this year. More to come this year 🫡

So here’s your reminder: post the card. Go live. Start the channel. Ask the question. Take up space.

On National Girls & Women in Sports Day, consider this your nudge: the more we show up out loud, the more girls see themselves here too.

And if you’re a young collector (or raising one) — I’m cheering for you. Always.
