✨ To inspire creativity, we must first find relaxation. Breathing connects us to peace and grounds us in the present moment. Listen as Elder Alvin Perkins shares wisdom on drumming, yoga, and breathwork to celebrate Kuumba with mindfulness and creativity.

✨ Kuumba invites us to create beauty and harmony within ourselves and our communities. Through breath and stillness, we unlock our creative potential and make space for renewal.

🙏🏿 Affirmation:
My breath is my anchor. With each inhale, I create peace within. With each exhale, I share that peace with the world.

📔 Journal Prompt:
How does relaxation unlock your creativity? What small act can you create today to bring more peace into your environment?

🧘🏿‍♀️ Breathing Practice:
1. Breathe in for 4 counts, hold for 4, and exhale for 6.
2. Visualize your breath as a wave, releasing tension and bringing peace.

🌟 Share your favorite relaxation practices in the comments and comment “Kuumba” to learn more about The DAY Program’s journey of mindfulness, creativity, and cultural connection.

Kwabena Agyeman has been drumming since the age of three, mastering an array of traditional Ghanaian drums and the full djembe orchestra. His dedication has taken him to Guinea multiple times to study with master drummers, and his talents extend to performing with renowned artists and participating in his jr high school music band, and high school marching band concerto. Kwabena brings rhythm to life, connecting people to the heritage behind each beat. An integral part of our ensemble, we’re always thrilled when he travels down from New York to drum and share his expertise with us.
