GLASS China September Issue 2026

GLASS China September Issue 2026

Chen Yao | The One Caught by the Stage
Meeting Jessica... All her past experience became just a stepping stone, helping her climb up to this new stage. This time around, she really had to relearn how to use her body.

Stilts, sandbags, wooden sticks, treadmills—she practiced embedding the lines right into her movements, finding that connection between her body and the space. The exhaustion didn’t fade even as she got better; instead, it eventually became part of the performance itself.

And so, the stage caught her. On that platform, she became Jessica, but also truly herself.

My sincere appreciation to @suziemillerwriter for this compelling work, to @yaochenofficial for bringing Jessica so brilliantly to life, to our remarkable creative team, and to @ralphlauren for their generous wardrobe support.
