@raisingkananstarz Final Season is streaming now on @starz - it was such an honor to meet the inimitable @themekaicurtis who carries this show with grace, grit, and gravitas - I look forward to seeing what this fierce actor gets up to next. Congrats to all the cast, crew, and production of @raisingkananstarz Kanan on 5 seasons of an ass-kicking show. Good luck in all that follows!

Episode 2 is directed by the talented and lovely @joytlane9 , the first BLACK FEMALE DIRECTOR I’ve ever had on TV (and I’m a couple decades deep in this game, y’all) and hopefully more will join her ranks!

I was reunited with some #orangefamily on set. It’s was a delight to see @yapfongyee ‘s familiar face telling me I can’t just make up the lines as I go 🙃

Shout out to my @raisingkanan family, daughter @livsymone (yes, from the @michaelmovie!), and @kevindeanwilliams (1 out of 2 of my favorite TV husbands named Kevin) @brandonxespinoza it’s funny how you’re so scary on screen and such a teddy bear off. Acting, amiright?? It was such a pleasure working on this ground breaking show. It will definitely leave a void for black talent in NYC, so let’s get more great shows like this for US on the Big Stream!

Oh, and let’s not forget the incredible 90s costume design by @_spelledwitha_t - got me lookin’ like afrocentric Claire Huxtable and I’m here for it 💃🏿

What an amazing turnout at the opening reception for Echo Locator last night! Thanks to everyone who came to support 💗The show is up and you can view my sculpture “Neuroplasticity” in person until January 25th at Field Projects Gallery @fieldprojects in Chelsea!

It was a special day in many ways — the 7 year anniversary of my first date with Oliver, and my mom’s 73rd bday, if she were still alive. I even had some friends I made through the @thedinnerparty come to support me. What a day!! 💗

After an afternoon reminiscing with my dad, I’m reflecting on the year and posting some highlights—always nice to remember the good things that happened. Hard to only choose 20 images!

Turning 39 tomorrow - last year of my 30s. That feels significant.

Grateful for Oliver, baby cat (Rubes), my brother + dad + SIL, my friends (though quite scattered around the world), and all the fascinating art and nature there is to inspire and entertain us. My 30s have been tumultuous and full of loss and change, but this facilitated quite a lot of growth and renewal. Onward and upward!

I moved to NYC exactly two years ago and it continues to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. @misterjimster We had tons to learn doing @deploycoffee together, but now it feels like we almost know what we’re doing lol, I’m forever grateful for that first push. I’ve got to meet so many amazing people over these last few years but @mschristinaknight might be my favorite (call me biased). Thank you for accepting my hectic schedule and always being willing to go on adventures together.

The amount of @evil I can see through these goggles is crazy! @yapfongyee learns to throw-marshmallow game gets invented-Demons eat popcorn- I found my #minime - #radioman blesses our production - @aasif pulls out his secret weapons- The Bouchard girls learn to Smoke cigarettes- @thekurtfuller thekurtfuller finally graces is with his presence- & @katjaherbers trains production assistants on how she wants to be treated when she leaves set everyday 😅 It's been a real drag filming with these awful people.
