i have spent the past week getting lost in the world of alex & ophelia and in sorrowsong’s dark, gloomy & mysterious setting. daybreak was the perfect conclusion to this duology and i’m so sad that it’s over, i miss them (alex) already😫

daybreak follows from the insane cliffhanger we were left with in nightshade & wow! i was on the edge of my seat for part of it whilst simultaneously fangirling over mr alex yearner corbeu green and his obsession with ophelia! 🤭

i absolutely loved and admire the way @autumnwoods.author handled alex’s depression. she handled it with so much care, passion & love. alex was literally going through hell but the way he shows up for the women in his life? i am so obsessed🥺

ophelia, my sweet girl! she was so precious and i felt so, so proud watching her find her forever and her place in alex’s world. she really grew into herself in this book and i loved it. her & alex were absolutely perfect for each other🫶🏽

the found family in this book was arguably one of the best things about it. my favourite side character was most definitely vincenzo but they were all incredible in their own ways🥹

4 years ago, i made this little bookstagram not knowing just how much it would mean to me. this account started off as a place for me to come and share my love for reading & very quickly became a place where i found the most beautiful friendships & connections 🥹

a tale of hidden kingdoms, fragile identities and the quiet, dangerous pull of destiny- imperfect but undeniably enchanting💫

with this being the first book in the series, i did find it to be a bit slow but that was expected. it always takes me a little while to get used to a new fantasy world but once i did, i was hooked! the writing in this book is absolutely beautiful & magical✨

alizeh, our protagonist- she’s a quiet, layered character with so much depth. her story breaks my heart. she’s strong in a way that doesn’t feel loud or forced. alizeh is not your typical loud, rebellious main character but instead, she’s powerful in her quiet endurance, in the way she survives & in her strength. despite suffering with so much loss & heartbreak, she still has the purest heart🥺

the prose is captivating and the emotions are so powerful. it feels very immersive and easy to get lost in. it’s more of a slow build than action-packed but i actually appreciated that because it made everything feel more meaningful and it’s building a great atmosphere for the next book which i’m so excited for! 🥰

in case you’re wondering.. i am in fact team cyrus already!! we’ve only been given a couple of chapters with him but i LOVE his character and i cant wait 🤭

@fictionfestuk 🥹🫶💌

had the most amazing day today at fiction fee in manchester!!! I met so many amazing authors and was super lucky to meet @yapsandpaperbacks and @nafs.reads 🫶🫶

I bought four books including a mystery book from @themysteriousbookcase !! They also gave me a lovely art print for @ellishunterauthor upcoming book Blood Bound!! I met so many amazing and lovely authors, getting book from @janishaboswell @gesmithauthor @stormlomax.author !!! 💘

I was there for a few hours so didn’t attend any of the talks but had so much fun walking around the stalls!!! I got to meet the amazing @sarahmughal769 and @alwasityhh !! I was hoping to meet a couple more but didn’t get the chance! All of @shalini.writes books were sold out but I got some BEAUTIFUL art prints (thank you @readinginthepeaks !!!)

there was a free libarray exchange which was so cool!! I took ten books to trade an got some amazing books there 🤭🤭
