First triathlon win ever🥇 and even in my home town.

Initially came here to set a quick time but with the conditions today the main goal became battling for the win.

The water was so cold my forearms and calves completely cramped up. Didn’t swim quick at all, but 10th out of the water, I’ll take that for now.

T1 was a hassle, trying to close my shoes and helmet with frozen hands.

And also on the bike I couldn’t find my flow. With asphalt from the early stone ages, hail, wind and rain it was fighting to get to the run. When I got to the front I decided to keep the gap and maintain Ironman power to start the run fresh. 39k/hour normally isn’t something I’ll be proud of, and I ain’t. But it was enough to start the run with a solid gap.

T2 again wasn’t pretty.

But then came my (never thought I would be saying this) favorite part: the run. Ran very stable around 4:00 pace with a lot left in the tank if I’d notice the 2nd athlete coming closer. But that wasn’t necessary. Ran the quickest run split of the day, again, who would’ve said that last year, or even 5 months ago.

Now some recovery and back into the last training block towards Ironman France.

Morgen wordt tijdens de WBVC cross in Wouw binnen de categorie MTB 17+ het Roosendaals Kampioenschap verreden! Alle renners die geboren of woonachtig zijn in de Gemeente Roosendaal kunnen hier aan meedoen.

Je kan je op de dag zelf hiervoor inschrijven, bij het uitreiken van de rugnummers. De beste renner uit de gemeente, mag zich Roosendaals Kampioen noemen en wint deze unieke trui!

Im Leistungssport spricht man hier von der Laktatleistungskurve. So werden Entzündungen im Körper besser reguliert und Ihr müsst Euch im Wettkampf nicht nur auf die begrenzten Kohlenhydratspeicher verlassen.
