Sweater Story #1 🧶 My very first sweater. Knitted twice.

I had my teacher @pipkaknits by my side, and the pattern was No Frills by @petiteknit

Started with Sandnes Garn Sunday bought in my new favourite shop @yarnqueenprague with two strands held together, on 4 mm needles. We skipped the German short rows because I thought they were too tricky. My ribbing looked awful, the sweater felt wrong, and I couldn’t figure out why. So one Sunday I unraveled the whole thing. 😭

Round two: size M, one strand of Sandnes Garn Sunday plus Drops Kid-Silk (mistake because is itchy on my skin). Step by step, this time properly by the pattern. A bit over a month in total, including one full unraveling.

Plot twist: I love it. 🥳 The sleeves grew 5 cm after washing, though. And it only clicked later why it doesn’t look like the pattern photo: different needles and a different yarn than the pattern recommends. Swatch, kids. Swatch.

Mohair itches, so I wear a t-shirt underneath. And from the leftover yarn I knitted a detachable turtleneck. One sweater, two looks. 🧣

Find the 350 differences between mine and the pattern photo. How many can you spot?🙈😂

And this is exactly where, at that very moment, my love for knitting began.” ❤️

I said knitting was boring. I said I’d NEVER do it. 🙈
One year later, I can’t put my needles down. 🧶

A very special yarn delivery ♥️

This beautiful muted red is for my mother-in-law to knit the upcoming Paradigme sweater.

Now I just need to wrap it nicely and give it to her 😊

A little memory from today with our knitting club from Prague ❤️

We took the train to another city, knitted along the way, visited an exhibition, and then spent a few more hours together over food, conversation, and, of course, more knitting.

Thank you, Galina @ava_galina, for always coming up with such lovely plans for us, and to our favourite yarn shop @yarnqueenprague for bringing such a wonderful knitting community together. 😊
