サンフランシスコ生まれのアーティスト／キュレーター、ヤーロウ・スラップスの個展「Breaking News」が湯島のギャラリー、Sho+1にて開催中だ。 サンフランシスコの自由な気風の中で育ち、ヒップホップカルチャーに親しんできたヤーロウ。ニュースをコンセプトにした本展では、戦争、若者のメンタルヘルス、富の集中、拝金主義、異常気象など、私たちの社会が抱える問題を風刺や皮肉を交えて表現している。 レセプションではミニインタビューを実施。後日のアップをお楽しみに。 【開催概要】 タイトル：ヤーロウ・スラップス日本初個展「Breaking News」 会期：2026年10月9日（金）–11月14日（土） 会場：Sho+1 @shoplus1 時間：12:00–18:00 休廊日：日曜・月曜・祝日

It may sound strange, but i’m actually so grateful for the medicine dementia has brought into our lives. Is it sweet or bitter medicine? Depends on the day. My life would not be the same if my dad didn’t have dementia. Doesn’t mean it would’ve been any better or worse. What’s clear is that this journey has come with more gifts and lessons than I can count. #dementia #caregiving

Yarrowslaps (@yarrowslaps) works across painting, music, publishing and curation, pulling in whoever shares his current interest to build something collective. He's based in San Francisco and co-authored "Ramen Forever: An Artist's Guide to Ramen" with over 70 creators and chefs in 2021. For this show he's dropped the habit of shaping the work for an audience and is showing what he's actually into right now.
