My goodness. What a difference a few months can make! As you can see, almost three months ago this could have ended quite badly (on the right of the scanned photo). As opposed to Wednesday 3 September (the left) where there was a big reduction!

Chemotherapy for one stretch of five days per month and Avastin (not a chemo, but still IV drip ~ and they’ve been coming to my house recently 😎) have been super helpful.

I won’t lie this time though. Surgery was in April, I had another seizure at the start of May, in the middle of June I was admitted to hospital (again, a late, but gracious change), where it was decided that I won’t be doing a clinical trial anymore, I would go straight back on chemo, with Avastin, and Dexamethasone. Later in June I had my eyes tested for new glasses prescription. No change in prescription, but I was told instead that I had bilateral papilledema ~ it was chemo related ~ so I was admitted to a vision specialist. So, not really feeling like myself until at least mid-July was a bit of an understatement.

Spiritually though, I’ve stayed very strong.
In amongst all of this, Olivia and I had to move out of our rental in Bonbeach and back to my family home, following the seizure.

Over the last six weeks, I’ve had a good run (and hey, after four months we were BACK running too, which was nice). Not been quite as busy, but I did go to been to Hoddles Creek (up near Warburton) for a few days with Olivia, her brother Hayden and his partner Juliet. Aside from a small range sesh, no golf since pre surgery, but I’ll be back soon. Some music, and a little bit of work over the last couple of weeks. And I’ve been enjoying most Wednesday mornings in the company of one of my sisters ~ Rose.

There are a lot of people to thank. Some of you for some very big things that have happened over the last several months ~ know that I’ll get to you when the time and space permits.

The plan for now is to continue on with chemotherapy and Avastin, with a slow steady decrease in steroids. You know what I’ve always said ~ always said though that this disease is not going to get me. And I still absolutely feel that way!
