$Last week, we had the privilege of celebrating someone so special in all of our dance families lives. Myself and our studio owner Angela decided to honour our beautiful Emily in naming a yearly award after her - which in coming years will be given to a dancer or team that demonstrates the qualities that Emily showcased throughout all her years at YDA. This award highlights her strength, resilience, passion, and the inspiration she was and still is to our studio and dancers. What a blessing it was to be able to celebrate her legacy (AND her 36th birthday!!!) with our YDA family in this special way, and to be able to shower her with even just a fraction of the abundance of love we know she deserves. Thank you to everyone who showed up with hearts full of compassion, understanding and love. The room we were in felt like one of the safest places in the world, and it made my heart so happy to witness this moment… it’s one I know Emily will remember forever. Emily, it was imperative that you be the first recipient of your own award. To know the impact you’ve had.. the lives you’ve changed, the passion you’ve demonstrated, the resilience and strength that embedded itself into your life and rippled through ours. It’s an honour to know you, to love you, and to carry on your name. Thank you for being you - one of the most special humans to walk this earth. We promise to continue to carry forth your love and your light, always.💗✨$
