The 2026 Competition Season was one for the books!! ✨

🌟For my solo, it was my first year competing in the Senior age division. Out of 5 solo performances, I earned a score of 295 or higher three times and placed in the Top 5 twice! I was also named 2nd Runner-Up for the title of Miss Believe Lafayette.

🌟Out of 20 group performances, our team earned scores of 295 or higher 18 times!

🌟My team and I are 10-time Regional Champions!! and we received 16 invites to the World Dance Championship!

🌟At Nationals, my team and I were invited to preform in “The Big Show” with all 4 of our group dances. Where we competed against incredibly talented routines. We placed:
🥈 2nd in the Elite 11 & Under Grand Line division for our production “Sparkling Diamond”
🥈 2nd in the Elite 12 & Over Grand Line division for our tap production “Sparklejollytwinklejingley”
✨ Finalists in the 12-14 Line Division for our jazz dance “Fosse”
✨ Finalists in the 15-19 Large Group division for our lyrical group dance “Power of the Cross”

This season came with some ups and downs, but I am so grateful to be a part of this team and incredibly proud to be a member of the @ydidance family. 💙 Can’t wait to see all we accomplish next year!

“And now the end is near”…

In August that line felt so far away and here we are, only a couple hours after I stepped on the stage for the last time. This solo is so special to me and everyone that has stood behind me through the past 15 years. Every struggle and hardship I have endured throughout my life will always be expressed through my gift of dance. If you know me you would know that these past 15 years I have gave my all into every performance I have ever danced, especially with my 19 solos. Now as my 18th solo has come to a close I can honestly say…

“I faced it all and I stood tall, And did it MY WAY”

Day 3 of dance company tryouts! Go get it girls!!

My First Competition Szn 🩰
on the “other side” & boy was it a roller coaster!! part of the perks of taking a hiatus from performing is that ive gotten to be home & take part in so many of my moms dance studios activities… this one being working with the competition team!

this season i choreographed 2 solos (acrobatics & jazz) and 1 small group jazz dance, picked out and rhinestoned costumes, ran countless rehearsals for my dances, provided a makeup application class for the team, gave my two cents for some of the other dances i didn’t choreograph & went over judges critiques with almost every solo we had this year!

& it’s mostly been fun. ive always wanted to have my had in running a competition team but boy did it show me all sides (good, bad & ugly) of being a leader & business owner.

my take away? it’s not for the weak. and it’s something that everyone involved needs to be equally passionate about! but boy is it rewarding when the hard work pays off & you see your students making improvements through out the year!

although i won’t be a part of our teams experience at nationals this summer, i am looking forward to re working/ perfecting our small group jazz & cleaning more solos as the girls prep for the big stage and tough competition that’s sure to greet them later this summer!
