One Last Hurrah!! This Friday night, it’s ‘Curtain Call’ at Yellow Cab, the home to our Dayton Rocky Cab(aret) series for the past three seasons. We’ve had a blast creating such joyful, provocative, and absurdist stage experimentation in this storied venue. Thanks for the memories @yellowcabtavern, Dayton will miss you 🚖🌄

I posted this on FB a couple weeks back, but I thought it might be worth repeating. Im gonna miss The Cab a lot. Hope you'll come party with us one last time this Saturday!

*Cute doggo pic for the algorithm.

To say Yellow Cab is important to me would be an understatement. It is not hyperbole when I say that a vast majority of the greatest nights of my life have been spent at The Cab. Winterfolks, Sideshows, DMFs, Showcase Thursdays, that time I got to open for Tim Easton, Rooftop Beatles, Pure Acoustic, the secret Breeders show, and countless release shows. Smalltown, Begining To Unfold, Airport Sounds, Paper Trail, Age Of Ashes, Higher Than Lonsesome, Misconstrued, The Reputation album, and SO many other albums that are so important to me, released right there at home, on nights I'll never forget. I mean hell, Ive played not one, not two, but three WEDDINGS at Yellow Cab. I met and fell in love with my wife at the cab. My daughter's first time playing on stage was at the Cab. The same stage she's gotten to see her Mama be a rock star on for as long as she can remember. Many of the friendships I have made and nurtured there will last my lifetime. I'll be forever grateful for that old garage that Tara, Mark, and Jeff turned into our sanctuary.

I couldn't possibly think of a better way to spend my last night on that stage than with my wife and all of our best friends playing loud rock & roll music. (NEO AMERICAN PIONEERS REUNION!!!)

So please join us for one more last call at The Yellow Horse Saloon.

Some relationships never quite become relationships. A little friendship, a little romance, a lot left unsaid.

“Amoeba Love” lives somewhere in that space. Two people drifting together, pulling apart, sharing the backseat of a taxi without knowing whether they’re going anywhere together.

My younger self? Been there. Done that. Probably wrote something on the fogged-up window. 😉

My older self closes his eyes and lets the saxophone finish the conversation. 🎷

Rain on glass. A ticking meter. One more moment before somebody opens the door.

Have you ever had a romance that never quite made it past friendship?
