I’m so moved to finally let Dulle Griet out into the world. I hope you’ll find something of your own in this strange journey. Above all, it’s my little ode to hope. ❤️

A few months ago, I started writing my new short film, In the Morning Sun We Wait.

What began as a small, personal idea has grown into a project that’s incredibly close to my heart. I’m so grateful that the project has already received support from @breedbeeldvzw . That support gave us a wonderful start, but we’re not there yet.
To make this film a reality, we’re launching a crowdfunding campaign @voordekunst . Every contribution, big or small, helps us take another step towards production. And if you’re unable to donate, simply sharing the campaign with others would mean the world to us.

This film began as a quiet dream under the working title “Riverbero” ("Shimmering").

Over time, through rewriting and creative growth, it became “If on a Summer’s Day a Girl”.

To our crowdfunding backers: thank you. Every contribution went directly towards making this film possible, supporting production logistics, equipment, and keeping our dedicated crew (many of whom volunteered and flew out to Sicily!) fueled and safe on set.

The next chapter is now taking the film to international festivals. To support that journey, the crowdfunding goal has been updated to help cover distribution and festival submission costs.

Behind the making of “Se un giorno d'estate una bambina”

A collaborative effort that brought together emerging film professionals and student talents from Belgium and Italy. Shot over an intensive multi-day schedule on the Mediterranean coast, the production relied on a dedicated crew to tackle demanding technical setups across rugged seaside locations.

The Crew Log:

Slide 1. A production memory: determination on the rocks.
Slide 2. Chasing the golden hour along the coastline.
Slide 3. Finding moments of levity between setups.
Slide 4. Midnight adjustments and problem-solving. Overcoming physical challenges around the clock.
Slide 5. Beyond the rented equipment, the film’s visual fluidity was driven by ingenuity. Meet our Key Grip, Rosario, and Additional Art Department member, Andrea @the_bugs_bunny___ , who designed and built a bespoke homemade tracking dolly specifically for this production. A testament to the passion and creativity that defined this set.

i wrote this song to help a loved one - and myself - navigate mental illness
it’s a reminder that the spark will return, even if it has faded for a moment
thanks to the genuine love, friendship and care we show one another
always breathing, listening, contemplating

Going beyond the physical 👁

Documentary artist @justinecappelle takes us through the exhibition Burning the Days in @wiels_brussels. This exhibition shows the works of the genre-defying conceptual artist Lutz Bacher. Justine is currently working on her first feature documentary about invisible technology. In similar spirit Bacher's work also often involves the unspoken, the invisible, and the question of authenticity.

Justine tells us: "She always hid herself behind a male name. In my work, I do the opposite of what she does. She hides herself extremely, and I extremely, uh, overshare, haha!"

@mauritzverlinden talks about his new exhibition ‘Aggregatietoestand van een Tovenaarsbrein’ at @bepart_platform in Waregem. He constructs an idiosyncratic cosmology through delicate drawings, textile works, and sculptures in which influences from folklore, space travel, and haute couture converge. ☄️
