I genuinely do like group shoots but I will say I try to do group shoots with people who would get along, one that always helps with jitters of meeting someone for the first time and it does translate well on camera. But it’s also fun, and I feel like that’s what I want to make sure every shoot feels like. I want me and whatever models I’m working with to have fun while we shoot together. Anywayy I was playing around with different lenses during this shoot. And I might’ve snuck myself in there a little.

such a magical summer 🩷🧝🏼‍♀️🧛🏼‍♀️🧙🏼‍♀️🧚🏼‍♀️💌 i’m so proud of where i am in life. i finally found the right medication after years of trial and error, and the world is so much brighter now. i wake up, not with dread, but with curiosity for what i might find each day. my hard work in school finally paid off, and im a real chemist now! i have a loving partner who sees all of me and loves me unconditionally. i have friends who understand my needs and love me BECAUSE im different. i get to return to my family every year at camp, and bring love and inspiration to future generations. and i still find time to make art, experience nature, challenge myself, and nourish my brain. 💫 i feel so lucky to experience life as an adult after a tumultuous adolescence. my brain is developing, im gaining wisdom, im only putting energy into the things that serve me, and i understand now how to make a life that is authentically my own. 🪷 at 17 i couldn’t even hope to have this perspective. every day was full or darkness and storm clouds, but i still found beauty in the pouring rain. it is that ability of mine- to find light in the darkness- that has made me the adult i am so proud to be. 💐 to the girl who felt so isolated and different: the world is much bigger than it feels. all you truly need is to befriend yourself. the rain is always going to come, and your years of resilience will help keep you and many others dry. 🦋 someone told me when i was 12, “you are your own person in a world of copies”. it took me until now to realize that that is my superpower. 🦢 i am still a pessimist through and through. i’m relentlessly sarcastic and turn my pain into humor. i am not a ray of sunshine, but i keep a lantern on me always (thank you to @camphighlight for giving me the matches). i love my quirks and my unfunny jokes. i love how dramatic and awkward i am. i accept that i don’t fit into every crowd, but that i can always find a friend just outside of one🦇 all of these words to say that i am grateful every day for how much i fought to be here. and i am eternally thankful to those who threw me a lifeline. i will ALWAYS be your shoulder to lean on.🤎 (lol here’s the summer dump)

Late post buttt I absolutely loved doing this shoot, it came out wayy better than I expected. I can’t wait to do more of these and thank you to all the models who reached out and who could make it as well as those who couldn’t.

Today I celebrate 5 years of liberation in the same state I started my journey in the Troubled Teen Industry. 5 years of me having access to basic necessities clean water, a restroom and food. 5 years without having to apologize for things I can’t control. Although five years seems so long the memories still flood back to me as if it was yesterday. I’m so thankful to @unsilenced_now @breakingcodesilence and my community of survivors. Along with them a special thank you to everyone who listened. Thank you for believing me. Today I remember those who didn’t make it to celebrate and I uplift them through my celebration.

Just got back from my J-Term in Rome, Italy! I had the best time studying cross cultural psychology. One key take away from that class is our study on PTSD and our visit to the refugee center. Many psychological disorders diagnosis criteria can vary based on culture to culture - but not PTSD. This was an extremely moving fact for me as I felt even more validated in my CPTSD diagnosis. I’m so grateful for this opportunity and all of the connections I’ve made. Rome- I’ll see you soon!
