BLACK QUEER JUSTICE | Stories. Power. Community. 🖤🏳️‍🌈

What an incredible evening of storytelling, vulnerability, artistry, and community!

Tonight, I had the opportunity to attend Black Queer Justice, presented by FreeState Justice and BLAQ Equity Baltimore, and I left feeling inspired by the power of people's stories.

From hearing about the challenges of navigating parenthood and discriminatory barriers within healthcare, to witnessing powerful poetry, soulful singing, and deeply personal reflections, every story carried something meaningful.

What I appreciated most was that storytelling took on so many different forms. Some stories were spoken. Others were sung. Some were expressed through poetry. Yet each reminded us of the importance of being heard, seen, and embraced.

There is power in telling our stories, but there is also power in creating spaces where those stories can be received without judgment.

Grateful for the voices, the vulnerability, and the community that made tonight so special.

Thank you, FreeState Justice and BLAQ Equity Baltimore, for creating this space. 🖤

Seeing a burlesque show is like visiting an art museum - some acts you love, some acts you don't understand, but each one leaves you thinking.

Burlesque hosts and performers @yesmxeden and @divadarling join the Bothered Stories: Smut Talks podcast to break down what makes burlesque important, from representation on the stage to community to storytelling.

Plus, learn how the movie Gypsy inspired Eden's burlesque journey and hear Diva's stage transformation from trained ballerina to "confusion b0ner$".

You can catch their blend of comedy and storytelling sharing stages with burlesque babes and prolific poets up and down the east coast. Audiences in Philly, New York, New Orleans, DC, and of course their hometown, have all experienced “the Eden effect,” bringing their unique style of sensual edutainment and wet humor (never dry) to every stage they touch.
