My first Kentucky buck! It has been an unforgettable 5 days at the @fieldandstream deer camp! I had the opportunity to meet some amazing people, share lots of laughs, eat delicious food, and listen to @willmoseleymusic sing by the camp fire every night.

Adam and his crew at @bluegrass_whitetail_outfitters run a top notch operation and I’ll definitely be coming back every year for a hunt. Huge shout out to my videographer @huntermarcel for sticking it out with me through long cold sits and capturing the entire experience from start to finish.

@fromfieldtoplate thank you for spoiling us with some of the best food I’ve ever ate and educating us with your professional butchering skills. @yetiman10 thank you for the invite and opportunity. And @k8e_belle and your crew thank you for all your hard work organizing this.

The cherry on top was my buck that I shot on day 4.

Thank you, @elizabethpipko for having me on your new show, Made In America, to discuss the heartbreaking tragedy that unfolded in Bend, Oregon, this week.

This was a difficult conversation to navigate. Our state is grieving, and I want to be sensitive to the families whose lives have been forever changed. At the same time, attacks on our Second Amendment and constitutional rights have already taken center stage.

I hope we can shift the conversation toward policies that ACTUALLY protect our children, including recognizing the Second Amendment for what it was intended to do: protect innocent lives.

I want to see a shift in legislative priorities toward securing our schools, protecting our children, and addressing the root causes of violence. Not another round of anti-gun legislation that strips law-abiding citizens of their rights while doing little to stop those intent on committing evil.

We can protect our children AND uphold our constitutional rights. These are not mutually exclusive.

My heart remains with the families who lost loved ones this week and everyone affected by this unimaginable tragedy. ❤️

Deer meat for @fieldandstream Deer Camp!

We’re in Kentucky, Kentucky is known for its bourbon, rich culinary traditions, and some pretty incredible whitetail hunting. I can’t wait to get in the kitchen, fire up the grills, and start playing with local bourbons, regional ingredients, and, of course, plenty of DEER MEAT!

For me, cooking wild game has always been about more than just putting food on a plate. It’s about telling the story of the hunt, celebrating the people who make it possible, and bringing everyone together around a meal.

I’m excited to put a little Kentucky twist on some of my favorite venison dishes, experiment with bold flavors, and show everyone just how versatile deer meat can be.

Bourbon, backstraps, and good company. Sounds like my kind of deer camp!

Let the meal tell the story of the hunt!
