POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Wrapping up my incredible exchange year as a Youth Ambassador in Germany with an unforgettable visit to Washington DC! 🇩🇪✈️🇺🇸 At the Harry S. Truman Building, I had the extraordinary opportunity to meet inspiring Foreign Service Officers, delve into the world of diplomacy, and explore the diverse career paths available at the State Department. There were also speakers who shared invaluable insights on leadership, effective storytelling, and the power of youth engagement in government.

Later in the day, I had the privilege of visiting congressional offices and engaging with the amazing staff representing my district and the Illinois Senate leadership. I passionately shared my transformative experiences in Germany and discussed the potential to shed light on the incredible CBYX program.

The day was an absolute success, and I'm thrilled to announce that I'll be returning to the nation's capital very soon! Stay tuned for more adventures ahead!

A tábor központi játéka a CsereÉn labirintus volt, ahol a diákok különböző, a csereév során előfordulható, kihívó helyzetekkel találkozhattak papír formájában.

YFU Volunteer of the Month: Virginia Warner 💜

For more than three decades, Virginia has been a steady and trusted presence with @yfuusa helping ensure that exchange students are welcomed, supported, and able to fully experience life in their host communities.

Her contribution spans multiple stages of the exchange journey. She supports international students as they arrive and settle into their host environment, while also guiding US students through the early steps of their own exchange applications.

Through this dual role, Virginia has helped make meaningful exchange experiences possible for hundreds of young people over the years, strengthening the connections that lie at the heart of YFU’s mission.

Thank you, Virginia, for more than 30 years of dedication, care, and commitment to intercultural understanding.

In 1984 I spent a summer in Denmark as an exchange student with @yfuusa and befriended my then 14 year old host sister @cattenbaum . In 1988 she came to visit me in the US. Why it took us another 38 years to see each other is beyond us both but thankfully that ends now. Within just a couple of minutes we were instantly reconnected as we has been that summer. That summer was a life changing experience for me and it would not have been the same had it not been for Trine and her family. I am so grateful I was also able to reconnect with her brother, Christoffer, and my absolutely lovely host parents, Kirsten and Skjold. I’m also grateful that I got to share this experience with @kendallcuningham and she got to meet 2 of Trine’s children, @bjoerklacour and @la_c0ur . If there is someone in your life that you have not seen in a while, take the time to make it happen. We will never be separated for 38 years again. Love you my dear @cattenbaum ! #denmark #exchangestudents #friends #reunion #yfu
