The deadline for the 2026 Western Canadian Music Awards is fast approaching. Next Wednesday is your last chance to submit. As a 4X nominee I know of the benefits of getting a nomination and encourage artists to submit.

If you are tagged in my post it means you have released 3 songs in the last two years which makes you eligible.

For REGGAE artists wanting to submit you must submit to the GLOBAL Artist of the Year category as there currently is not a Reggae Artist of the Year category yet.

@breakoutwest recently shared some reasons why you should submit. Have a read and apply TODAY…

1. Industry Recognition That Opens Doors
An award nomination (or win!) signals credibility. It tells festivals, agents, labels, publicists, and media that your work stands out. Many Western Canadian artists have used WCMA recognition as a stepping stone to national awards, major festival bookings, and international opportunities.

2. Visibility in a Crowded Digital World
Thousands of songs are uploaded every day. Awards cut through the noise. WCMA nominees and winners receive media coverage, industry attention, and opportunities that help grow audiences far beyond their hometowns.

3. Celebrate and Showcase Western Canadian Talent
The WCMA’s exist to spotlight the incredible artists, producers, and industry professionals building careers across our region. Your work deserves to be celebrated alongside your peers and recognized as part of the growing national and international impact of Western Canadian music.
