One year down, the rest of this incarnation on earth (and maybe beyond?) to go 💛🧿 The last Sunday of August meets anniversary combo has me very in my feels. λοβ γιου @chris_paschos. Wish we could freeze time, ship our friends and family to Amorgos, and live it again

Just a few from our ceremony 💙 Thank you @frevagoras for serving.

Our 300 person party and people deserve a post unto themselves. Later 🤭

This time last year, so many of our loved ones descended upon Amorgos to kickoff our wedding weekend celebrations. Anyone who’s planned a wedding knows it can be a pressure cooker leading up and then poof. It’s over. Cheers to finally posting some photos from our welcome party at our beloved @fatamorgana_amorgos, which was TRULY the most fun and love-filled evening🥹💙🧿 and happy welcome party “anniversary” 🤭 christos.

37 ☀️🧿🏺Thank you, life force, for the obvious privilege of simply being here, loved, healthy, and safe!

Thank you all for the wishes and thank you to my husband and family for celebrating with me today. 🧿

Nonetheless, I spent the morning feeling overly existential and a bit melancholic about Dolly’s passing. Birthdays and holidays often have that effect… one becomes reflective and acutely aware of the passing of time. Fun! Dolly’s passing also felt symbolic. She’s from the same part of Tennessee as my paternal family, and my late grandmother (who I lost too early) LOVED to play her music. In some weird way, I guess Dolly kept her memory alive, and I assumed Dolly would never die??? I know it sounds melodramatic, but something about it just HIT: that even the glowiest of earth angels among us will pass. Kind of weird on one’s birthday eve, but also a reminder to look at her life and lessons as a beacon before heading into another solar return.

P.S. The Virgo season light did a lot today 🌾 May this late summer season inspire you to refine your recipes, discernment, and connect with EARTH! She’s holy! Also, enjoy Phoebe freaking out to the candlelight.

REAL TALK 🧿 Beginning in college, I took a long break from dance because I couldn’t stand to look at myself in the mirror. I also had become very disembodied and I wasn’t moving well. That’s what body dysmorphia will do to ya, folks!

It was during this time that I found yoga. Like so many, my main entryway was hot yoga, and I was a frequent student at Bikram Yoga in downtown Charlottesville among mainly older hippies.

Through yoga, I found a way to reconnect with the joy of being in my body without the pressure of dance, though admittedly it was sometimes approached as a more toxic way to “de puff” from college drinking and dining hall culture, YAY. When I graduated from @uva , I wanted to do yoga teacher training but at the time I was forced to go get more of a “normal” job.

Years later when things were better up there, as in in my head, I was slowly able to start dancing again. BLESS. I found myself repeatedly wanting to bust out of the structure of the poses while in yoga classes. Noodling is healing, folks.

Now, I’m many years past the body dysmorphia issues and can say with 100% certainty that I feel mostly good in my skin. I am so fascinated by simply exploring myself through movement, be it the structure of the yoga practice or through dance. Sometimes you need a boundary - yoga is good for that. What’s FUN is breaking down and connecting the two modalities, which is what I did spontaneously on the roof this day during retreat.

I struggle a bit with the whole selling your pain online thing that a lot of people do. I know it hooks people, and I also know it can be healing for people to see themselves in others when they talk about their tough times and hardships. I haven’t wanted to speak about this much, and it feels so far in the past, but I did not “get into wellness” for sexy reasons. BUT I’m just not interested in “selling my story” that way, nor am I wanting to promote learning through suffering. (Cue the end of the Piscean age 🤭). Anyways, it came up recently that perhaps it might resonate with some of you. Also, more importantly, it felt good to improv on that roof, flowing between poses and free movement. DO YOU! 🌊

time well spent on amorgos

an island my dear friend now calls home
greek grace, summer solstice retreat
a portal for remembrance & play

we bathed in the glittery waters of the aegean
extended our hands to the sky as if we could touch the sun
channeled our inner greek goddess
meditated on vastness•loving kindness•gratitude•surrender
practiced boat pose 1000x times

stared up at the rock formations, cliffs and peaks and thought about dean potter walking against the skyline under a full moon (maybe just me, confirming i have the rock climbing itch)

squeezed every last bit of juice from the lemons
learned that the flowers of st. johns wart are like little suns and it is a ritual to harvest on the solstice

smiled so big my face hurt when bb phoebe surprised us for greek dance and thought about two summers ago when she was along for the whole retreat ride inside kristina’s belly

picked wild sage and said thank you, thank you, thank you to the land

gasped in awe at the moonlight dancing over the water

this is simply a sliver of the magic! it is a privilege to travel freely, one that i will never take for granted- but it is our birthright to feel, share, rest, and connect. thank you to our incredible group of retreaters who made this week so special, and to my brilliant friend, co-host, and visionary @kristinadelphi. it is a gift to work side by side with you, the recipe just gets sweeter because the foundation is built with integrity. honoring the land, the culture, and the magic of greece. @yia.mas x somatical ♾️ greek grace summer solstice retreat 2026 🌞 ευχαριστώ

Always a little hesitant to pop that post-retreat afterglow bubble. Heart so open! All the tenderness activated over the solstice! 🌞

Recap and 2027 details coming tomorrow. Till then, a moment that felt suspended in time, via @lulusoni

Not every beautiful place makes it onto a travel guide.

This small seaside café-taverna, perched just above the beach, is one of those places I keep coming back to.

A simple spot where you can slow down, enjoy a coffee or a local meal, and watch the endless blue of the Aegean Sea.

This is the side of the Cyclades I love most—authentic, quiet, and just a few steps away from everyday life.

Follow along for more hidden corners of the Greek islands. 🤍
