A tiiii
Started this song with Yandel back in April of last year. He brought his prophet 5 and played what later became the bridge for the song. I tracked some acoustic guitar, Yandel played the main synth part and the bass line, I programmed some drums, and we had the core of the song down.

I knew I wanted to record electric guitar and piano for it, so we put together a quick session in Studio E. Haojin played some beautiful melodies while the amp in the room was broken and crapping out lol. I played a few things on the upright piano for the song, then I wanted to double what I played on the acoustic on the piano, so I asked Carla to help out and she killed it.

Hosanna and I met for the first time a few months later that summer, and I knew I had to show her what Yandel and I had made since they’ve worked together for years, and I knew Hosanna would fit perfectly on the song. We wrote the verse and the chorus on the spot, and Hosanna also wanted to invert the chord progression for the second part of the chorus, which honestly added a lot to the way the song feels now. After I told her that I’m putting a lot of voice memos into the songs I’m making, she thought of putting a video of her and her sister from a while back into the song, and that’s what you hear in the intro and the outro (I put the video on the last slide, it’s so cutee)

I went back to Calabria that summer to see my best friend and go back to the hotel where we practically grew up, and I just had to record a voice memo there to put in the song, you can hear it at the start of my verse. Those three days in Calabria and all the prior summers we had there shaped what this song means to me and what I wrote about, and I hope you have a similar beautiful experience and memories that this song can remind you of.

Also Pablo helped me out with the harmonies for the bridge shoutout Pablo

Aaaand of course we had to shoot the video for it in Puerto Rico, so after planning it with Dasha and Hosanna, I flew over and we managed to get some beautiful footage in such a special place. Gotta come backkkk and run it back

Thank you to everyone who made this song what it is and thank you for listening🫶🫶
