Young Kings Movement is a Loudoun County-based youth outreach program for young men ages 13-18.

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Recently, we had the opportunity to sit down with Leesburg Mayor Kelly Burk and Mrs. Summers, Executive Director of the Young Kings Movement in Leesburg.

We truly appreciate Mayor Burk taking the time to listen and learn more about the Youth Workforce Programs we are working to develop with our community partners.

The Young Kings Movement continues to invest in young people through mentoring, leadership development, life skills, education, and opportunities that help prepare youth for their futures.

These conversations mean a great deal because creating opportunities for young people takes all of us — families, community organizations, schools, businesses, and local leaders working together.

Having the Historic Douglass High School in the background made this moment even more meaningful. Opened in 1941, Douglass was Loudoun County’s first and only high school for Black students until school integration in 1968. Black families and community members organized, raised funds, and purchased the land that helped make the school possible — a powerful reminder of what a community can accomplish when it comes together for its children. The school was preserved, and is also the site of the Douglass Community Center building addition. (Leesburg VA)

We honor the history behind us by continuing to create opportunities for the generations ahead of us.

Thank you, Mayor Burk and Mrs. Summers, for your time, your commitment to our young people, and your willingness to continue building stronger opportunities for our community.

Fundraisers from some of our home games helped raise money towards their goal for a much needed van for the YKM program. Stay tuned on how you can help with obtaining their van possible too!

🚨Building Partnerships, Empowering Youth🚨
✨ @ykmloudoun @loudounprcs ✨

Team Owner Tina and Executive Director, Mrs. Summers of Young Kings Movement recently met at the @douglasscommunitycenter to discuss opportunities to partner-collaborate and serve youth and communities.

The visit included a tour of the youth program space and meaningful conversations about how we can continue building pathways for young people to grow, lead, and reach their full potential!

The young men in the Young Kings Movement are already making a difference through their commitment to community service. Throughout the year, these hard-working and highly motivated youth can be seen contributing to and participating in several community service projects, giving back and making a positive impact in the communities they call home.

Their dedication, work ethic, and willingness to serve are truly inspiring! We’re excited to continue building this partnership and creating even more opportunities for our youth to lead, serve, and grow.

We look forward to continuing to collaborate, connect resources, and serve our youth and community together! When we work together, we create stronger pathways for our young people to thrive.

YKM Mission Statement:
“Our mission is to focus on the growth and support for teenage males in the greater Loudoun County area by:

• Building strength and confidence by supporting their goals and achievements.

•Building character through mentorship and positive role models.

• Inspiring growth through the introduction, exposure, and awareness of ideas, persons, places, and things not traditionally made available through the current educational framework and life situations.

•Educating our kings in traditional and non-traditional ways to supplement and enhance their learning experience.

• Unlocking their power, talent, and gifts through constant support and mentorship.

EMPOWERING ONE YOUNG KING AT A TIME!!

Today, our volunteers came together to organize food and pack boxes for families in our community through the Ampersand Pantry Project. ❤️📦

A special thank you to Gaby Lamas, who traveled from our Orange office to help spearhead today’s packing event, and to the Young Kings for lending a hand. We are so grateful for everyone who gave their time and energy to help make a difference.

These food boxes will be distributed to local families in the coming weeks, and every box represents the generosity of our community.

If you’d like to support the Ampersand Pantry Project through volunteering, donations, or by learning more about our mission, visit: https://burnettwilliams.com/ampersand-pantry-project/

Together, we can help ensure our neighbors have access to the food they need. 💙

Community. Service. Impact. ❤️🏈

The 2026 WPSM “I AM” Youth Football Camp was a powerful reminder of what happens when a community comes together to invest in the next generation.

Thank you to Supervisor Sylvia Glass, Doodie and the Young Kings Movement of Loudoun, Coach Lemar Marshall, our incredible coaches, teachers, volunteers, community leaders, and every family who trusted us with their children.

We are also deeply grateful to our partners and sponsors, including Wegmans, Raising Cane’s, Faulkner Fundamentals, Community Church, Shelter House, and Michael & Son Dulles Sportsplex. Your support made it possible to provide this experience completely free for every child who attended.

Our goal is to keep this camp free for years to come so every child has the opportunity to participate, grow, and believe in who they are. If you’d like to partner with us for 2027, we would love to connect.

We are Building Bridges with a Servant’s Heart. 💙🧡

On Thursday, 5/29, I got to chop it up with the @ykmloudoun 👑 — and let me tell you… the future is bright.

Since 202, Mrs. Summers, founder and CEO of the YKM is pouring into young men of color with mentorship, leadership, and life skills that actually stick. Middle and high schoolers learning self-awareness, purpose, and how to move with intention? Yeah… this is the work that matters.

I pulled up as the founder of Inspiretobeu, shared a bit of my story, and introduced them to Soulful Scribbles — my guided journal designed to help folks reflect, heal, and grow from the inside out. 🧠📝

We talked faith.
We talked purpose.
We talked real-life transformation.
And every single moment reminded me why this mission matters.

Big love to YKM for creating safe spaces for young kings to rise.

This is just the beginning 🙏🏽

It matters if it can be remembered, taught, and modeled. Christ did that for me, and now it’s my turn to follow suit 🫡
