For a while, I’ve been dealing with prediabetes, but after going to the doctor this past Friday, they told me my numbers had gotten higher—way too close to becoming full-blown diabetes. They made it clear that I needed to take action immediately.

Looking back, I should’ve been taking my health more seriously. When they started talking about prescribing multiple medications, it really bothered me. That was my wake-up call. I knew I had to stop moving around like everything was fine just because I felt okay.

Just because we’re young doesn’t mean we’re good. Health is wealth, and we have to stay on top of it, even when we feel our healthiest. Trust me, that’s exactly what I thought.

I’m very familiar with being in shape and being in the gym, but after my accident on March 20th, I took a break and lost some of that consistency. I also know firsthand how diabetes can affect your body and the serious complications it can cause if left unchecked.

So I’m sharing my journey in case there’s anyone else out there going through the same thing—or simply as a reminder to go get checked and stay on top of your health. Give yourself a little grace, but hold yourself accountable too.
