Just wrapped week 2 of VENUS and I’m am so overwhelmed with gratitude and love. My baby girl watched IDR. My gorgeous opening night dates were my ride or dies who always have my back. 3 of my dearest friends traveled from NYC just to see my show. My 🇵🇭 family continues to show up. So many friends! 🥲 And DC creatives and audiences have come out to emphatically support. This has been such a powerful reminder that our community is vibrant and caring and deeply connected. I am loving this entire experience, the people I’m working with, and the people who generously gave their time to witness our work. Because we really are putting in the work, this show is a beast. I love performing it and I am grateful for every single soul who has engaged with it. These are just a few photos, it won’t let me tag everyone but I love you all 🖤

Heather Lanza is brilliantly directing the play in the round (!) and Ynika Yuag is script god (dramaturg), plus a phenom design team & crew & community partnership with March For Our Lives.

Been Zooming into rehearsals from Scotland and WOW what a batch of wildly talented Avas & Parkers. We’ve had such deep and juicy conversations about girlhood & guns, I barely noticed it was 2 am sometimes. 💖

If you happen to know anyone in the DMV, especially in the educational or political sphere (!), word of mouth has always been this tiny & mighty show’s best friend. I know it’s cringe, but I really do believe art has the power to change what needs to be changed in our world. And I am SO f*cking OVER daily mass shootings in America. Aren’t we all?!
