We can’t wait for the next cycle of Beyond the Margins to begin 🙌🏽🫶🏽🙏🏾🎉

Recently, we wrapped up our first cycle of Beyond the Margins: a 6 week intensive designed to equip writers with the tools required to shape and refine their craft.

We are excited to announce we will be expanding our list of genres for this cycle and will be hosting upcoming sessions in poetry and memoir, in addition to our fiction sessions.

Beyond the Margins is perfect for you if you want:
- Guidance with your writing
- A supportive community
- The discipline to commit to starting and completing those ideas in your head

We also have an online classroom space that provides additional support. We upload our lectures every week and share readings and videos that we know will assist your writing journey.

Please Don’t Take My Sunshine Away

You are my sunshine.
I look for you every morning,
but lately, the clouds have taken over
so I’ve been patiently waiting
for them to clear.

You are my sunshine.
I know you’re still there,
even when I cannot see you,
even though your warmth is stifled
I remember how you make me feel.

You make me happy when skies are gray.
You chase away the doldrums, the tears.
You encourage growth after the rain,
and love through the pains
of life and its uncertainties.

You’ll never know, dear, how much I love you.
It is all encompassing, never fading—
and even though obfuscated by the clouds,
it is constant, eternal.
I love you. Always.

Please don’t take my sunshine away.
I need you. I miss you. I want you.
I crave you. I adore you.
I desire you.
Please, my sunshine, stay.

I wrote this piece for someone’s art, but they did not get back to me, so I’m posting it with a photograph I took myself. Hope you enjoy! The Ancient and the New

The solstice turns the patient earth,
and winter loosens from her throne.
The grass grows bright with tender green
around the ancient, patient stone.

A white buck lies upon the field,
his folded limbs at quiet rest.
Yet proud he lifts his gentle head
with newborn sunlight on his crest.

His coat is pale as melting snow,
his antlers drink the golden sky.
A quiet monarch of the spring,
with watchful, calm, untroubled eye.

A raven, dark as midnight ink,
has chosen there his solemn seat.
He lands upon the buck’s still rump
with clever balance, light and neat.

No fear between the black and white,
no startled leap, no startled breath.
Just peace upon the greening earth
where winter yielded unto death.

Around them bloom the tulips bright,
all yellow as the warming sun.
They lift their cups to greet the day
and tell the cold its reign is done.

Behind them stand the ancient stones,
a circle carved by time and hand.
A silent hymn of turning years
that crowns the waking, blooming land.

And there they rest in gentle calm—
white stag and raven, dark and fair—
while spring unfolds her golden breath
and pours new color through the air.

@3am in the morning YAYY

After being MIA for several seasons, am now enjoying breaking the shackles of my writing procastination. Hope you all my gramming audiences, readers & fellow poets are too liking my meagre pieces of half hearted labour.

This is me trying voiceover after a long long gap. My voice may not sound top notch but am free now of all the chains of not writing.
