Cooking at El Capitan in Yosemite. It was a beautiful sunny day and I’m using my 22 inch Blackstone griddle to cook it up! Met a dude named Eric and gave him some tacos 👌

Costco on Christmas Eve in South City and wow… crabs are pricey right now 🦀💸 so are they fresh? Not sure if commercial crabbing hasn’t even started yet, so IYKYK

Friendly reminder: the commercial Dungeness crab season officially starts January 6. Once that happens, crabbing usually slows down for us recreational crabbers.

So if you’ve been thinking about it, now’s the time to get out there and drop a crab snare yourself! Be safe and tight lines!

🎥 IMPORTANT: HOW TO CLEARLY SHOW YOUR MEASUREMENT FOR THE CRAB DERBY 🦀

This video is just a visual example of another technique to clearly show your measurement on camera. I recorded this using a phone neck mount (link in bio) which makes filming hands-free easier, but it’s not required. You can still do this with one hand.
For the cleanest measurement across the carapace, the best and easiest method is to hold the crab firmly and fold the claws inward toward its body, as shown. This keeps the crab still and prevents the arms from pushing against the gauge.

🔸 Reminder: This video does NOT include the required voice portion (your name, the date, and the last 3 digits of your ticket number).

Use this clip as a guide for measurement clarity only. The key is to show the gauge up close first, then pulled back so everything is visible for the Vivid Snares team to review. 🏆🔥

🚨 Big News Crabbers‼️🚨🦀🎣

Vivid Snares are NOW available at Chit Chat Cafe, right at the entrance of Pacifica Municipal Pier, CA! 🌊 If you lose or forgot your snares, no worries they’ve got you covered just steps away! But hurry, weight options are limited, so grab yours before they’re gone! ⚡

Tag us in your catches using #VividSnares to be featured on our social media! Have a safe weekend💥

Story time. This one hits different for me. This building, Chit Chat Cafe has been a part of my life since I was a kid. My dad and I would always stop by before hitting the pier for salmon fishing back when the runs were strong. It was the spot that kept everyone warm, with a hot coffee in hand and snacks to keep us going.

Now, years later, having Vivid Snares sold here feels full circle. Grateful for the support, and if you're out on the pier, swing by, grab a snare, and maybe a coffee too. ☕🔥
