York Special Care Baby Unit Support Group ❤️

Reflexology is powerful!

Whilst I undertake my case studies for Bergman Method Advanced Facial Reflexology I felt compelled to further advance my knowledge of published research into what reflexology can help with...

As a mother and someone who has experienced having a pre-term baby that stayed in York SCBU and also a second child (full term) that had bad reflux and needed her feet holding to get to sleep I just find this so interesting and it would have helped me.

I felt compelled to share it with you and please do share it with anyone who you feel might benefit from knowing that there are holistic approaches that may help 🙏✨🤍

*as reflexologists we cannot claim to cure or diagnose but we offer complimentary therapy and a whole person wellbeing approach alongside medical care*

Post-partum and baby reflexology is certainly on my CPD list and a cohort I am passionate about helping... watch this space.

This one means a lot 🤍
Almost 18 years ago, when we were all still kids ourselves, we watched our friends experience the unimaginable, losing their son, Alfie. 🕊️

I think I can speak for so many of us when I say that we were, and still are, incredibly inspired by Dean and Charlene’s strength in the face of something no parent should ever have to go through.

What followed was something incredibly powerful. Their loss brought people together. It gave people a reason to do something positive, to support others and, in doing so, keep Alfie’s name, his memory and his legacy very much alive.

It was an absolute pleasure to sit down with my friends, reminisce about all those years, hear some of the stories again and make this video to share with you all. There was plenty of laughter, a few emotional moments and so many memories.

17th February next year will be Alfie’s 18th birthday.

So for them, it feels like the perfect time for one final challenge.

17KM. 17 DAYS.

And this time, we want to bring as many of you with us as possible.
There’ll be different routes, hikes and plenty of opportunities to join us.
It’s not a race. It doesn’t matter how fast you run, or whether you walk some or all of it.
It’s about getting outside, challenging ourselves, doing something good and coming together as a community.

So please take five minutes to watch the video, hear the story, see where this journey began and what’s coming next.

And if you’re watching this thinking you’d like to be part of it, we’d absolutely love to have you.

comment “I’M IN” below. 👇🏼

Let’s get as many people as possible behind this final challenge and make it one to remember.

The GoFundMe link will be in our bios so if you’d like to support Alfie’s Legacy, that’s where you’ll find it. 🤍

18 years on, Alfie’s name is still bringing people together.

And I think that’s something really beautiful.

I am so very proud of Alfie’s Mum & Dad. 🤍

We did it—100 miles in April between the two of us and an incredible £701 raised for the Special Care Baby Unit Support Group at York Hospital!

We’re so thankful for everyone’s support. We didn’t know how it would go, especially with Kate only 3–4 months postpartum, but it turned out to be such a great motivator.

Your donations are helping to support so many mums, dads, and tiny fighters in those early, emotional days. Thank you for making a difference with us!
