Some places are beautiful.
Some places teach history.
And some places inspire you to become a better person.
Today, Lisa and I experienced all three.
Our visit began in the beautiful gardens surrounding the Obama Presidential Center. As we walked toward the entrance, the architecture itself seemed to invite us into a story much bigger than a single building.
Of course, we couldn't resist stopping to "join" President and Mrs. Obama for a hug! 😊
Then we stepped inside and were greeted by one simple but powerful word:
HOPE.
That word has inspired millions around the world, and seeing it displayed so prominently reminded me that hope isn't passive. Hope calls each of us to serve, to lead, and to believe we can make a difference in our own communities.
The journey continued to the breathtaking Skyroom. Standing there, looking out over Chicago's South Side, was an experience I'll never forget. Above us, the ceiling is filled with words from President Obama's speeches—a beautiful reminder that words can challenge us, unite us, and inspire us to action.
Lisa and I left feeling grateful, hopeful, and inspired.
If you ever have the opportunity to visit, I encourage you to go. It's much more than a destination. It's an invitation to reflect on where we've been, where we are, and where we can go together.
Thank you to everyone at the Obama Presidential Center who made our visit so memorable. Your kindness and hospitality will stay with us for a very long time.
