THE SAFETY BOX IS A FINALIST!

This Black History Month, we are proud to celebrate the achievements, contributions and positive impact of men within our communities.

We are honoured to announce that The Safety Box has been selected as a FINALIST for the Power Of A Man Awards 2026! 🔥
While awards and recognition are never why we do what we do, we are genuinely grateful for this nomination and the acknowledgement of our work.

Our mission is to empower boys through our Foundation, young men and men through our CIC to realise their potential, build confidence and create positive futures. Through our work in schools, communities and prisons, we promote personal responsibility, resilience and the belief that your past does not have to define your future.

This nomination is an opportunity to celebrate the impact of our work and thank everyone who continues to support our journey.

WE WOULD LOVE YOUR SUPPORT!

📅 Sunday 22 November 2026
📍 De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms, London

We don’t do this work for recognition. We do it because people matter, potential deserves to be nurtured, and stronger boys and men help build stronger communities.

We are grateful for the nomination. The mission continues! 👑🏆

YEARNERS DON’T PLAY. 🖤 Our first featured artist for November is Young Athena, making her Live From 144 debut.

Our first and second ticket releases are officially sold out. Third release is live now.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Young Athena’s music is born from hunger, contradiction and movement a nomadic soundscape where heartbreak meets the power of love, delicate strings collide with gritty basslines, and the sacred meets the profane. Her voice can move from seductive neo-soul and soulful R&B into concrete head-nodding hip-hop, rock-infused rhythms, dancehall, drum and bass and unexpected operatic moments, twisting and transforming without warning.

Raised in London by an opera-singing mother and rapper father, she grew up between musical worlds and has never felt the need to choose just one.

Yearners know the assignment. See you in the room.
Live From 144.

After five years, @MOBO.UnSung is passing to a new team.

I’m immensely proud of what we built. Three cycles. 30 artists. 90%+ still working in music.

When I pitched the revamp to Kanya King in 2020, my goal wasn’t to create stars. It was to level the playing field for Black artists who had put in the work but been overlooked.

We got them to @GlastFest, @GreatEscapeFest, @SXSWLondon and Strawberries & Creem. Every act got @BBCIntroducing support. Studio time at @MarshallRecords and Abbey Road. Training with TikTok, Canva and Help Musicians. And my own artist development workshops on creative identity and career strategy.

The alumni are the proof. @JordanAdetunji (MOBO, BRIT, BET and Grammy nominated). @SarahIkumu in Vogue. @MorganMunroeOfficial and @ZitahMusic at @SXSW Austin. @VALNTNAmusic with 4 million streams independently. Josh Barry, @AceClvrk, JClark, NE One The Wonderer, @CraeWolff—all building careers on their own terms.

Thank you to every artist who trusted me with their journey. It was a privilege.

After Kanya’s passing, @MOBOAwards is going in a new direction. I wish the team well.

I’m now open to consultancy in artist development, programme design and music education. Alongside my work with the @RoyalAlbertHall’s Future Makers, I’m continuing to build pathways for emerging talent.

If you’re building something that supports the next generation, my DMs are open. #ArtistDevelopment #MusicEducation #BlackMusic #MOBOUnSung #MusicIndustry
