Sometimes, the little things matter.

We had some moments outside the buzz and rush of the city. A journey from Benin City to Ogbinbiri Town, Warri North, Delta State.

It was a beautiful experience. We swam, played football, laughed, ran around, and just had a good time.

For a moment, we were just kids again. No city rush, no pressure, just being present and enjoying the little things.

AN OPEN LETTER TO THE FOUNDING FACULTY OF KREATIF CIRCLE ACADEMY — COHORT 1

They saw the vision, believed in what we were building, and showed up.

When Kreatif Circle Academy began its first cohort, we wanted to create more than a series of classes. We wanted to build a learning space where emerging creatives could gain practical knowledge, learn from people doing the work, and become better equipped for their own creative journeys.

Our Founding Faculty helped us make that possible.

Across Photography, Content Creation & Video Editing, and Mobile Videography & Filmmaking, every facilitator brought something different into the Academy—their knowledge, experience, perspective, time and, most importantly, their willingness to share.

The sessions were insightful, practical, engaging and full of value. You came prepared. You gave your best. You answered questions, shared experiences and helped our students see new possibilities for their craft.

For a first cohort, that means more to us than we can adequately express.

You didn't simply facilitate a class.

You helped us lay the foundation for what Kreatif Circle Academy can become.

Preceding Edo @35 anniversary celebration, some members of Young Filmmakers Hub led a partnership with the Office of the Special Adviser on Tourism and Creative Economy, @antolecky, to create a short and well-curated documentary highlighting Edo State’s journey over the last 35 years.

We made a film. 🎬
This week stretched me in ways I never imagined, but we did it.

My biggest independent production yet is officially wrapped. I'm incredibly grateful to God and to everyone who gave their time, talent, energy and heart to help bring this story to life.
Still processing everything... but for now, I'm just thankful. ❤️

A room.
One question.
People willing to stay and have an honest conversation.

When I planned Let's Talk: Beyond the Complaints, I honestly didn't know what to expect.
I only knew I wanted to create a space where young people could move beyond frustration and simply... talk. A safe space where they could express themselves, feel seen, feel heard, and feel empowered to act.

What I didn't expect was how willing people were to listen. To disagree respectfully. To challenge ideas. To learn from one another.
We came from different backgrounds, but for a few hours, we shared one room and one conversation.
That reminded me of something important.
Change doesn't always begin with loud protests or big stages.
Sometimes, it begins with people who care enough to engage.

This conversation was hosted as my step-down project for the Digital Mobilization Lab Fellowship by @connected_dev , but I don't want it to end here.
Because if this experience taught me anything, it's that these conversations are needed.

And this is only the beginning. ✨

Documentary Screening – June Edition 🎬

Yesterday's Documentary Screening was a truly memorable experience, bringing together creatives, storytellers, and film lovers for an evening of reflection and meaningful conversations.

We screened two powerful documentaries:

✨ YouMan — a film by our very own @ayothefilmmaker , co-founder of Hue Create.

✨ Shining Light on Lupus — a moving documentary by @ruthnazzinda (Uganda).

The turnout was incredible, and it was inspiring to see how deeply the audience connected with both stories. The screenings sparked engaging dialogue and thoughtful contributions around healthcare, personal growth, resilience, and the journey of creatives navigating their paths.

A heartfelt thank you to TellThatStory for making this DocuScreen possible and for continuously creating spaces where creatives can come together, share experiences, and reflect on the stories that shape our communities.
