Biggest chipwich ever! The pic doesn’t do this behemoth justice. It’s at least double the size of a normal one… and only $6!!!

The salted cookie pairs so divinely with the ice cream that I had to order a second.

The summer time is ALL about dining al fresco and since so many of our beloved streeteries are GONE we're jumping at any opportunity - especially @gomtairy Supper Sessions - the whole dang block is shutting down so you can sip and snack under the stars.
At Supper Sessions, the 7100 & 7200 blocks of Germantown Avenue are closed to cars, trucks and buses, and Mt. Airy’s historic commercial corridor is opened to the people. Patrons can order from their favorite eateries and sit down to enjoy their food at communal tables arranged across the Belgian blocks and trolley tracks.
There'll also be guest food trucks, local live music and a DJ, and kids activities including story time and @usekiddietown bounce house to make it fun for the whole family.
It's free to attend, food and drink are PAYG! We'll tag some of our fav spots in the post. Link in our bio for all the deets!

Chef Reuben Asaram @chefreubenphilly is back in pop-up action after a short break, and better than ever.

His first pop-up this month was at @youngamericancider in Germantown - I ordered almost the entire menu:

Chicken torta
Achiote tandoori chicken thighs, queso oaxaca, guacamole, cilantro, onion, beet lime mayo, chipotle refried bean hummus, bread from La Ingrata @laingratacamden

Bone marrow tacos
Bone marrow brisket curry, fried onions, pepperoncini aioli, cilantro

Potato tacos
Masala dosa potatoes, cotija, salsa verde, cilantro, onion, sambal crema, coconut salsa macha

We tried all of the ciders (their 3 classic ciders and 3 seasonal including a very interesting tangerine turmeric cider)

And we also picked up the community cookbook from @cookswhocare
an organization dedicated to providing mental health care for f&b industry professionals - learn more about them at the link in my bio

We’re live at the Young American Cider Tasting Room (@youngamericancider) in Philly’s Mount Airy neighborhood for the REUBY (@chefreubenphilly) Kitchen Takeover, featuring cool summer desserts by @makembakem. Amazing tacos, cheesecake pops & locally brewed cider … what more could you want on a hot summer night?

I’m Chef Maria Campbell (@chefmcampbell) and I’m here with print copies of our Cooks Who Care Community Cookbook for sale and to support Chef Reuben, who contributed a recipe for the Autumn section of the book. Our book is unique for two reasons. #1 - each recipe is interactive and comes with a scannable QR code that takes you to a how-to demo video with the Chef who shared the video (filmed by @ericilovett and his team at @ilovettfilms!) and #2 - all the proceeds are used to support mental health initiatives in the Food & Beverage Industry! It’s a beautiful book, making a big difference in our community.

We’ll be popping up at events like this one all summer long, so be sure to follow @cookswhocare to find one near you!

This Sunday, July 9th, our friend Chef Reuben Asaram (@chefreubenphilly) is taking over the kitchen at Young American Cider (@youngamericancider)! Check out this amazing menu that he’ll be serving from 4pm - 8pm, along with desserts by @makembakem!

We’ll be there too, with copies of our Cooks Who Care Community Cookbook - which features a recipe for Crispy Baharat Spices Lamb w/ Blue Corn Sopes from Chef Reuben himself. All proceeds from sales of our book fund our initiatives to increase mental health support options in the Food & Beverage Industry.

Young American Cider & Tasting Room is located at 6350 Germantown Ave in Mt. Airy. Can’t wait to see you there!
