Went on a mission with @247represent to run across France.

The scenes were unbelievable, vibes were high, and the crew stacked miles from the Alps to the Mediterranean.

300 miles from Chamonix to Marseille - there's very few things in life like that.

Big moments deserve to be celebrated.
There is something truly special about getting together after @thespeedproject with others who’ve shared the journey with you. They understand what you’ve been through in a way that no one else can. No two journeys are the same, and every teams’ experience is different, but there is a bond that is created amongst those that participate.

Also, @itsjarick’s vibe during the Double Down is the only way I want to live.

TSP - CHX>MRS: 8 people - 250 miles - 36 hours

I knew that running from Chamonix to Marseilles in my first @thespeedproject would be the experience of a lifetime, but I underestimated how many amazing people I'd get to meet. This race, the team, and the laughs with friends made along the way will stick with me forever, thank you TSP!

Thank you to @gordonclark for having me on this incredible team of runners 🫶🏼

“I grew up in a normal childhood, with normal parents. They’d take me skiing in the winter, and traveling in the summer. We always stayed within the lines so we never had any traumatic events. Now I work only 9 months a year and use the rest of the year to plan activities.”

Yesterday I was honored to speak on a panel in front of hikers/adventurers alongside a couple really cool outdoorsy ladies.
The topic was solo travel/hiking.
We went around telling our stories, focusing on what inspired us to get out of our comfort zone and chase our passions.
Our stories were pretty similar in the sense that we were seeking more from life during a time of chaos and uncertainty. 2 girls lost a family member, another ended a long term relationship, and I shared about impulsively leaving my long time dreadful corporate job.

That’s when one of the audience members butted in with his “enlightening” comment that I quoted at the beginning of the caption.
I became irritated with this person’s lack of self awareness as he basically downplayed our circumstances by saying that if we would just stay within the lines, we’d be “nORmaL” and life would be great.

I tried correcting the person.
I interjected by reminding him that their normal isn’t everyone’s normal!!
His wife chimed in and said, “okay maybe the right word would be {average} is this okay for you?”
That’s when it hit me!
I looked around and noticed WHERE I WAS, WHO I AM.
I had a realization, that I probably shouldn’t be there.
I was speaking in front of folks that just won’t resonate with my story. I don’t blame them.
They were born into a completely different world.
They failed to see their PRIVILEGE*!

If this person is a representation of the way certain people think, it explains why they see us the way they do.
To them, we’re not “normal”

A fire was lit, after some deep post-panel convos, I’m motivated more than ever to get my folks out here with me.
I’m excited to build community, in which we’re creating our own normal. Let’s dream big☁️💫
I don’t take any of this for granted!
Thankful for that blueberry tart at the summit 💪🏽🤠🏔️
