Being in that room yesterday was a reminder and gave us even more reason to keep believing in what we’re building.

So much of what Black Sam shared reminded me of what Young Go and our team have always stood on: however long this takes, we won’t compromise who we are, our morals, or our values. We’re building something meaningful and knowing the work, sacrifices, and love that went into it will make it that much more special.

Stopped by with my son Robert Blake to say hi to my sister & this heat had us throwing away her dead flowers & heading out fast 🥵

It reminded me of something. Two days after my sister passed, my siblings & I went to Inglewood Park Cemetery to do one of the hardest things we’ve ever had to do choose the place where a piece of our hearts would be laid to rest.

That day was full of emotions but we wanted to make sure our sister was taken care of. Our family service counselor Esteban drove us around. We made a few stops, but none felt right until the last one.

As we all got out, Mil stayed back in the van. He couldn’t bring himself to get out & choose the very place where our sister would rest. He just told us, “Choose something you know she would like.” 😪

From the beginning, we all said, “Find a spot with a lot of shade because Lala doesn’t like being in the sun” lol. And there it was...a big tree giving her spot plenty of shade. And that’s how we found our Lalaland.

I just wish we still had more time with her....

For over five years, we’ve brought Lala fresh flowers twice a month. Then in August, Vika decided to go BIGGER & got flowers spelling “LALA” in 24-inch letters

The cemetery called me & said we could only have flowers that big on special occasions, like birthdays & holidays. They warned me that if they saw them again, they’d throw them away. I did say, “We’ve been bringing her flowers for over five years, why this now?”

So when September came & it was WR turn to get flowers, I told my siblings, “No more big letters. Just get flowers for her vase.”

Last weekend, I went to visit Lala & there were Kuti & Sose, setting up her new flowers. I asked, “Why did y’all get these big letters again? They’re gonna throw her new flowers away!”

Sose said, “They should be grateful we took away one letter & we went down 4 inches." 🤦🏾‍♀️🤣

Lala, come get your siblings. They be doing too much out here. Went from LALA flowers to LYD (Love You Deep) 💐
