New York Watch Week isn't only about the big fairs.

Last night, Gotham Watch Club (@gothamwatchclub) hosted an intimate evening with Grandeur (@grandeur) in Brooklyn, giving collectors the chance to spend some real time with a brand that takes a decidedly unconventional approach to contemporary watchmaking.

Grandeur's catalog is full of pieces that are difficult to fully appreciate from a spec sheet alone, from unusual displays and materials to tourbillons and other complications.

Getting them in hand, speaking directly with the people behind the watches, and seeing how other collectors react to them is part of what makes smaller gatherings like this so worthwhile.

A great start to what is shaping up to be a very busy week of watches in New York.

The danger in collecting is feeling like you have to consume everything. “If I like it, I have to have it.” But you can study, admire and love a piece without owning it, and appreciation counts as part of collecting too.

So tell me: what’s the one watch you love but never need to own? 👇

If you don’t know who Rashad Bilal is, then you’re bugging. The Bronx native is one half of the powerhouse duo behind Earn Your Leisure, helping change the way the culture talks about money, investing, entrepreneurship, and building generational wealth. From sitting down with some of the biggest names in business, sports, entertainment, and finance to helping turn Invest Fest into a major destination where financial education meets the culture, Rashad has carved out a lane all his own.

Recently spotted out the country living life and enjoying the fruits of the labor, Rashad made sure the wrist was talking too—rocking an 18K yellow gold Rolex Cosmograph Daytona on the Oysterflex bracelet. Sporty, luxurious, and built for somebody who understands the value of time. When you spend your days teaching the culture how to build wealth, it’s only right you put a little wealth on the wrist. 📸 @iamtydavis

If you don’t know who Bizzy Crook is, then you’re bugging. The Miami-raised rapper has been putting in work for years, building his name off sharp bars, real-life storytelling, and that hustler mentality you can hear throughout his music. From his 84 mixtape series to working alongside some respected names in the game, Bizzy carved out his own lane while staying true to his sound.

Recently on IG, Bizzy shared a dope father-and-son moment that showed the love for watches might already be getting passed down to the next generation. Bizzy pulled out a few pieces from his collection and put his son’s watch knowledge to the test—and little man was able to name each one. But Bizzy saved the best for last, surprising his son with a Tissot PRX of his own.

More than just a watch, it was a father introducing his son to the culture, the knowledge, and the appreciation behind collecting. Start ’em young—because a real collection always has a story behind it. #bizzycrook #mami #hiphop #atimeinhiphop #explorepage
