Every year @yourrootsandbranches I run Bloom, where we build your writing practice from the ground up so it’s more sustainable, fun, and centers the things you care about. Writers of all backgrounds, genres, and experience levels join us! But I often get asked about food writers since so many of my colleagues work with food. Food writers (and all writers) always take so much from this class and it now has an optional food-focused craft component. I hope you can join us! Head to my profile or @yourrootsandbranches to sign up!

One of my favorite things about building Preserving Abundance was the chance to use my thinking about food waste to translate into a larger worldview of how I think about wealth and abundance. We all know that capitalism ain't it, for so many reasons, but have we started to consider what actually IS? I am not going to pretend that I, or my online classes, have all the answers, but I can tell you that when you take Preserving Abundance you'll get access to a perspective on wealth that's holistic and curious, that incorporates food in a way that honors the hands that grew it and the stewardship of the land. That asks you to be expansive in your understanding of abundance and that maybe roots you in to accessing the possibilities that are already right in front of you, in your kitchen (using food you're probably just throwing away). Yes, it's a practical class that you take on your schedule, and yes it will teach you how to reduce food waste. But Preserving Abundance is an ethos, not just a handful of kitchen hacks.
