Ladies and Gentlemen, your 2025 YWSSOTY: Mark Humienik Back in the blog days at the end of the year we used to do a year-end round up called The Soonies. Categories included Video Of The Year, Shoe Of The Year, Kook Of The Year, and of course YWS Skater Of The Year. I have no desire to do that much work ever again but I have been meaning to bring back the YWSSOTY, truly the only award in skateboarding that really matters. So here you have it, the first YWSSOTY in 14 years, @human_neck. A man of taste, style, and impeccable trick and cellar door selection. Everything we look for in a YWSSOTY over here 🏆🫡

New @ipathofficial shipment! 🌿🌱 A quick story about I-Path: 25 or 26 years ago when I-Path just started, back before I worked at the shop and when Corey owned it, I came into the shop to try and convince him he should carry this dope new brand. Corey wasn’t sold at first but a bit later I came in with the newest Strength Mag that had style god Nate Jones on the cover doing a backside noseblunt in the black leather Grasshoppers. I slapped it on the counter and said “Come on man look how fresh these look.” and Corey said “Okay yeah we gotta get those.” After that I-Path became a HUGE part of Ninetimes and was our best selling shoe, all the team dudes wore them, a couple were flow for them, and they were very prominent in all of our videos. We’re hyped to have them back on the wall and available online! what were your thoughts on the 30th anniversary half cab celebrations last year?? for me it almost felt like the 20th saw more hype 10 years back…. but maybe only cause i was more invested then & the social algorithms wasn’t so limiting?! i only saw the parts 2/3 of the official vids yesterday…. but without doubt the most impressive content i saw was from the fans! @youwillsoon crushed it with his poll documenting the greatest half cab wearers of all time. not necessarily a reference to how they skate but how they wore em! some spiritual marketing with consultation by the nostalgic heads of the gram, which certainly spoke to me! honourable mention also goes out to @victorm.deluis for his killer dragon edit. put these guys on half cab flow for life! that all being said i did learn via @houseofhalfcab that there was 60 releases across those 12 months. with advancements in the ‘92 spec panelling, the anaheim rubber detailing & the glossy skate foxing, the half cab now resembles the usa vulc form more than ever before. im not here to tell you how they skate, but the look is 1 step closer at least. wish we saw more apparel though, with 30th anni references for us collectors. alas, all hail steve cab & the greatest skate shoe in the universe!
