🏃‍♂️⛰️ @themagnificentbaling100 – My First 50KM Trail Run! 🎉💪

What an unforgettable experience! I signed up for the 50KM Baling Trail Run, and I’m incredibly grateful to finish 7th in the Men’s Veteran Category! 🏅🔥

This wasn’t an easy race. The first 25KM was a true test of strength, patience, and determination. Survive that, and the remaining 25KM becomes a battle of endurance and mental toughness.

My race strategy was simple: don’t get carried away at the start. Stay patient, trust the process, and run my own race. That patience paid off in the end. 🙏

A long-distance trail run isn’t just about running fast. It’s about:
✅ Managing your pace wisely
✅ Refuelling with the right food and hydration
✅ Staying mentally strong
✅ Respecting the trail every step of the way 💯

A huge thank you to @umadewi and @anand_78 for giving me the opportunity to join this amazing event. I’m also so happy to see more Indian runners becoming part of the growing trail running community. 😊🇲🇾

To my awesome gang— @sivaseelan_268 , @fun_hiker , @ritha27 & @dhanyasivamuni —thank you for constantly motivating me to chase that Sub-6 finish and for making this entire TMB journey so enjoyable. You guys are the best! ❤️

And of course, what better way to celebrate than crossing the border to Betong for great food, laughter, and a well-deserved recovery! 😄🍜🎉

A special thank you to my @pacemakers.my family for always encouraging me through the weekly Friendship Runs and pacer duties. Those consistent runs have played a huge part in preparing me for this milestone. 💚🏃

Tunggul Melati Trail (TMT 2025)
📍 Distance: 37.7KM
⛰ Elevation Gain: 1439M
⏱ Cut-off Time: 11hrs | My Time: 9hrs 57min

I never knew Dengkil had this many hills! 🏞️ From the start, the course proved to be rolling but brutally steep at every climb. The RD was spot on: 21% road, 79% trail but each trail entry came with punishing elevation that reminded me Pahang Eco Trail nightmare.

First half took us around Bukit Tunggul, before switching to road en route to Bukit Melati, visiting Eagle Hill, Monkey Hill, Centipede Hill, and the Cobra Hill (twice 🤣). The rolling climbs tested every step, though some stretches were thankfully runnable.

Aid Stations :-
Banana cake 👎 (smelled off)
Roti canai & watermelon 👍
🏆 Asam Boi Limau Soda = LIFE.

Heavy food before the last Tunggul grind.

Route Marking :-
Decent for 35KM category, but still need GPX some segments were unmarked. GPX = survival. Overall was fun, challenging, painful but worth every step. The more pain, the more gain 💪🏼🔥

The second G7 journey, one of best hike I've ever done. Tough and beautiful ❤️ Started at kebun, roller coaster hike with all the way to Kem pelaur where we saw the beautiful Pelaur waterfall. Set our camp and hiked up all the way to peak. On our way to peak mesmerised by beautiful mossy and bonsai, felt like in an adventure on Enid Blyton fantasy. Spent few hours at the peak and went back to Kem Pelaur and had fun mandi sungai again 😁 Chapati and Pav baj gravy for dinner by @tharmaraj Anne 😋 and slept comfortably between @laavanya1997 and @logeswary11 akka 😘😝. Next day, ate nasi lemak for breakfast and went all the way down to live the 'normal' city life again. Thank you my dheivam @tharmaraj Anne for being with me and helping me in this journey, you're the reason I am able to complete this hike ❤️ Thank you YB for the amazing view and fine weather! You're simply stunning ✨
