10 YEARS OF MELISAMBA. 💗

It’s hard to put 10 years into words, or even into one photo carousel. 🥹

So many performances. So many costumes. So many rehearsals, laughs, sweaty dance floors, unforgettable moments, and friendships that grew into something much bigger than dance.

When I look back at these photos, what I feel most is gratitude ❤️.

Gratitude for every dancer who has shared the floor with MeliSamba over the years. For the musicians, teachers, friends, clients, students, and community who have supported us. And for the incredible friendships that have grown into my Samba family.

I’ll forever be grateful to Brazilian culture for giving me a passion that has brought so much joy into my life — and for the opportunity to dance, perform, learn, and share in a community that continues to grow and connect people all over the world. 🇧🇷❤️

And now…we get to bring some of that family back together and CELEBRATE! 💃🏽🥁✨

MeliSamba is turning 10, and we’re having a PARTY!
📅 Saturday, Sept. 19
⏰ 7 PM – Midnight
📍 Ani’s Day & Night @anisdayandnight | 7107 E. Riverside Dr.
Join us for Tropicália Nights @brazil_night_atx with @real_bossa_ , @bateristas_do_coracao , MeliSamba, @bate.lata.tx , and DJ @hobo_d — plus plenty of music, performances, and Samba. 🔥

To every person who has been part of these 10 years — thank you. Whether you danced with us for a season or have been along for the whole ride, you’re part of the MeliSamba story.

Here’s to the memories we’ve made, the people we’ve met along the way, and whatever comes next.

Now let’s celebrate 10 YEARS! 🥂💃🏽🥁

✨LINCOLN CENTER WITH @silvanamagda & Viva Brasil Dancers! 🇧🇷 💫 What an honor to represent the indigenous roots of Brazil and its history of traditional dances for the Summer For the City Concert Series: AfriCarnaval Brazil 🇧🇷 x Trinidad & Tobago 🇹🇹 🌆💃🏼🎤 Celebrating 50 Years of the Caribbean Cultural Center, and honoring @calypsorosediva !🌹👑

Dancing at an iconic venue like @lincolncenter was a bucket list item for me and an experience I will always cherish. Obrigada Obrigada @silvanamagda for trusting me once again with your vision, artistry and passion. Every step, count, lyric, costume piece, and feather was accounted for and there is no one like you Silvana, with your flair or professionalism! I am so grateful for you, this beautiful stage, dancing at sunset, representing the culture that cares for the lungs of the Earth and the most iconic carnival in the world 🫁 🌍 🌳🌇🇧🇷👑🙏🏼🇧🇷🎤💃🏼

Everyone involved from the dancers to the musicians to the staff backstage was incredible to work with and so professional and kind. Every rehearsal felt like we were in full carnival prep and I loved every minute! And a full circle moment for me as a dancer with a background in dance and indigenous studies and advocacy.

A beautiful night with beautiful people on a beautiful stage doing what my soul loves most for people I respect 🫶🏼🙌🏼 Truly an honor. Thank you 🙏🏼
