Halal Klubnacht invites: X TiN (DE) x Katja Adrikova x LA:BRIGHLI

Thank you to everyone who joined us at Giri for our first listening session.

After slowing down to listen, we return to movement.

Halal Klubnacht takes over Tallinn Hall with X TiN, LA:BRIGHLI, and Katja Adrikova.

This edition moves deeper into darker terrain: hypnotic rhythms, patient tension, and moments of release. Less about spectacle, more about presence.

Part of Halal Club’s ongoing exchange between Tallinn and Berlin, the night continues a dialogue between underground spaces, shared experiences, and dancefloors that still offer something rare: full attention, together in real time.

HALAL CLUB: LISTENING SESSION

For years, Halal Club has occupied clubs,warehouse floors, smoke-filled dance spaces, long nights built around movement and volume. This time, the focus shifts elsewhere.

For one evening, Giri becomes a listening room.

Carpets replace the dancefloor. Bodies settle closer to the ground. The pace slows. Sound unfolds without the urgency of the club, inviting a different kind of attention.

Moving through ambient textures, experimental works, spoken word and poetry, the program explores the space between performance and contemplation. Less a concert than a shared environment, the evening is designed as an encounter with sound in its quieter, more transformative forms.

Alongside the music program, photographer Nicolas Winterstein presents a selection of works, while GroundStratics offers Lightbody Fork Tuning sessions—bringing together image, vibration and listening as interconnected experiences.

Suspended somewhere between gathering, exhibition and ceremony, this edition of Halal Club offers a pause before the weekend begins. A space to arrive, to listen deeply, and to leave carrying something softer into the night.

404_LAND opens online on virtual.hek.ch on June 12, 5 PM CET.

The exhibition marks the first presentation in the Tezos Foundation x HEK partnership and brings together six artistic positions working across machinima, generative systems, interactive simulations, machine vision, AI dialogue and speculative worldbuilding.

Starting from the familiar 404 error, the exhibition explores what happens when access is interrupted: a page not found, a destination missing, a search that leads somewhere unexpected.

The participating artists enter this error and give it form — as political disappearance, computational misunderstanding, encoded selfhood, partial perception and planetary instability.

Featuring Gabriel Massan @gabrielmassan, dmstfctn @dmstfctn, Varvara & Mar @varvara_and_mar, Hind Alsaad @hindgalsaad with Martin Juras @martinbjuras and Levi Hammett @exact.location, Kat Zhang the Poet Engineer @the.poet.engineer, and Alida Sun @alidasun.

Curated by Auronda Scalera @aurondascalera and Alfredo Cramerotti @curatorview. The virtual opening will be moderated by Isabella Maund.

Program Update #7: Non-linear Archive — Roundtable with @vinzenzaubry  
Now to another program highlight of our symposium: we are very happy to close the symposium with @vinzenzaubry and a workshop of a slightly different kind — an experiment in collective archival practice.

From the beginning of Reclaiming Data, we will introduce @field.tool as a shared documentation tool: a non-hierarchical archiving environment through which speakers, students, researchers, artists, institutions, and visitors can co-author an archive of these two days.
Photos, notes, quotes, links, references, artworks, books, and spontaneous associations can be added throughout the symposium — tagged inline and flowing into one common knowledge base. Instead of being curated from above, the documentation grows organically into an interactive graph of relations, traces, and shared observations.

On the second day, we come together for a roundtable with Vincenz Aubry to reflect on what unfolded and to discuss what non-linear, co-authored archiving could mean for future forms of documentation, research, and collective memory.  No registration needed.

Program Update #4: Panel 1 — On Reverse Archaeology and Synthetic Historiography

How can artistic practices intervene in the digital infrastructures through which the past is stored, reconstructed, and reimagined?
Panel 1 of Reclaiming Data brings together @albadri.nora @juan_covelli , and @krft.id — three artistic positions working with archives, datasets, colonial collections, synthetic reconstruction, and the unstable boundary between historical evidence and algorithmic imagination.
Together, the panel asks what happens when missing fragments are generated, when cultural memory becomes data, and when artistic practice turns toward forms of reverse archaeology, speculative reconstruction, and critical reappropriation.

Program Update #3: Skill Sharing Sessions + New Venue 
A short update: Due to the safety closure of the TU main building, Reclaiming Data has found a new venue: the symposium and exhibition will now take place at @flutgrabenberlin .

We’re very happy to introduce the three Skill Sharing Sessions accompanying the symposium — small-group, hands-on encounters with the technologies that increasingly shape what we remember. Each session is led by an artist whose practice opens AI, archives, and platform infrastructures to critical and creative scrutiny. 
→ Unreal Data — Real Effects with @mediengruppe_bitnik  A critical and performative session on digital rating practices, online reviews, and how platforms shape our perception of place.
→ AI Sound and Cultural Memory with @allapopp  A hands-on insight into an artistic AI workflow, based on Virtual Tatar Choir and the use of personal and archival recordings of rural Tatar singing.
→ Memory Machines with @mvzmuehlen  A session introducing Will the Revolution Not Be AI Scripted?, an interactive installation working with AI-mediated voices of resistance, archival gaps, and critical fabulation.

Program Update #2: Screening + Aftertalk

We are very happy to introduce the next event within the Reclaiming Data series, and it is a great pleasure to present „Afterlives“ by @alsolikelife .

The film is one of Kevin B. Lee’s powerful desktop documentaries, which premiered at @doclisboa.iff last year and was nominated in the New Visions section 2025. The film engages with the historical traces of extremist propaganda and with the efforts of those who confront its violent effects. It asks how we might respond to the violence embedded in such media and how these images remain entangled with structures of power, from colonial legacies to the digital present.

We are also very honored that Prof. Orit Halpern will join Kevin B. Lee for a conversation following the screening. Together, they will open up the film’s questions toward the contemporary data landscape, synthetic image cultures, and the politics of memory today.
