Yet another astonishing bunch of artworks created by our talented Finalists, who are an integral part of our #ArtistsForClimate global open call for digital illustrations, graphic design, lettering art and typography, launched together with @TED and @TEDCountdown. The initiative sought awe-inspiring designs that depict a hopeful future around climate change, or have a clear message around the urgency for actionable change. The project received a total of 2,222 submissions by 1,432 artists from 95 countries. In addition to the 50 Selected Artists, we’ve chosen 46 Finalists to join The Climate Collection. The fifth batch of climate-conscious international creatives are, as follows: 🌱 Mpumelelo Ngewu (@korner_kid), South Africa 🌱 Jurgita Vasiliauskaite (@yurga.va), Lithuania 🌱 Nitya Bellani (@be.a.bub), India 🌱 Teodora Pascanu (@atelier.pateo), Romania 🌱 Marina Lessa (@magris.ig), Brazil 🌱 Ruchita Bait (@ruchita_bait), India 🌱 Aidan Ryan (@heyaidan_), Australia 👉 HOW TO USE THE WORKS: Powered by the global creative community, our Climate Collection of open-license art is an invaluable resource and tool for activists, educators, nonprofits and climate action heroes like yourself to spark change and use the power of art for campaigning and advocacy. Another amazing artist we have picked is @yurga.va who graduated from the University of Dundee 🎨 @yurga.va main focus is illustration, but she also produces some beautiful subtle gifs and short animations based around nature and environment related topics, music, food and the emotional state. We love the boldness of the style and colour palettes, combined with textures and sometimes collaged/mixed media elements that are very considered to fit the tone of the project. #freshersmeet #ThePledge #artists #newtalent #artgrad

It's September, and we've rounded up the best advice from our community for all the students on creative courses this academic year ✨ Thanks to everyone who answered on our stories with their thoughts - it was really heart warming to see everyone so enthusiastically give advice. Most of our responses could be distilled down into two main themes: 1️⃣ - If you're on an art or design course (whether that's uni, college, foundation, etc...) make the absolute most of your time there. If that's throwing yourself into collaborations, facilities or opportunities - whatever you can find. 🔍 Your tutors are there to push you - if you aced every project first time you wouldn't be learning or growing. Take control of your time to experiment and don't let yourself feel restrained by anything. And also importantly, 2️⃣ - If uni, college or traditional education isn't for you then don't feel like you have to do it. There's no straight path into the creative industries, and not going to uni doesn't mean you don't belong here. We're highlighting these back to school moments simply because it's September, but not everything relies on academia. 🎓 If you tried formal education and it wasn't for you, or if you didn't consider it at all, then that's more than okay. If creativity is fundamental to your self then the creative industries is for you, regardless of qualifications. ❤️ #design #designer #graphicdesign #art #poster #illustration #designinspo #tdkpeepshow #inkygoodness #creativereview #packaging #painting #junior #career #jobhunt #recruiter #networking #notworking #job #placement #intern #studentwork #designstudent

👋 Hello everyone! We are the @2050climategroup, a youth-led, volunteer-driven organisation who has been working to empower young people to lead climate action towards a just and sustainable future since 2014. 🌍 We exists to equip those Young Leaders with the knowledge and skills to take action and enable the creation of accessible opportunities to influence sustainable change. 📅 We are hosting our 4th Youth Summit, 'Let's Talk COP26', on Saturday the 4th of September 2021 (this Saturday!). This event will host a diverse variety of speaker sessions grounded in 5 of the key themes up for discussion on the COP26 Presidency Programme: nature-based solutions, adaptation and resilience, finance, energy transitions, and clean road transport. 🌳🚴‍♀️✊ By engaging with these themes, we will unpack a decision making process that lacks transparency and marginalises those experiencing the climate crisis first and worst. This event is free and open to all young people aged 18 - 35 in Scotland. You can find the event sign up 🔗 in the @2050climategroup Instagram bio!
