Community is the heart of Abhaya 🤍
We gathered with our teachers to begin the year together—to connect, share, and set intentions for the year ahead.
Through laughter and a Secret Shiva gift exchange, we celebrated the holiday season. Each teacher received a gift that reflected the love, care, and light they bring to our community, honoring the unique qualities that make them special.

Some intentions shared included: meditate more, come to class with each other more, study philosophy more deeply, step courageously into one’s authentic self and teach from that place, create rituals for self-care, and take risks.

Rooted in gratitude, connection, and heart-centered presence, this is the spirit of Abhaya ✨

Happy Monday ✨
Meet our Teacher of the Month, Yuri Tachi @yuritachi 🤍
Yuri teaches our Community Class on Mondays at 4 PM, offering a space that’s grounding, accessible, and welcoming.

Here’s a little more about her:

🧘‍♀️ Three words to describe her class:
Therapeutic, relaxing, chill 🍃

👗 What does she do besides teaching yoga?
I freelance in fashion! 🪡

💫 Favorite thing about teaching yoga:
Guiding students to a calmer mindset 🦋

🌱 How yoga has positively impacted her life:
Yoga has made me 100x more grounded and I’ve been able to bring that stability towards other aspects of my life ✨

😄 Biggest teaching blooper:
I always mix up foot & leg- they’re the same word in Japanese 😭

Come practice with Yuri and experience her calming, grounding energy for yourself 🤍

As the air turns crisp, we gather to find warmth from the inside out.
This time of year can feel packed, but your practice invites you to pause, soften, and settle.
Come move, breathe, and reconnect with what feels steady.

Yin and Yang remind us that life is made of opposites — effort and ease, stillness and movement, grounding and expansion.

Handstand calls us into courage, fire, and play. Mountain Pose returns us to presence, stability, and calm.

Both are essential. Together, they remind us that wholeness comes not from choosing one side, but from embracing the dance between them. 🌗✨
