2019 Prime Minister's Award for Youth Development 🇯🇲
Our vision:is to see underserved people having equal opportunities.

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Aside from being low lying areas or flood prone areas as we commonly recognize and describe them. One of the most prevalent factors which causes unnecessary flooding in Jamaica is the improper disposal of garbage in our nation's communities, towns and cities. This is a matter that must be curbed immediately. Far too long, citizens of Jamaica has suffered extensively simply because proper preventative measures have not been put in place to ensure that when we experience prolonged periods of rainfall or rapid heavy rainfall persons are not flooded out of their homes. Which quite unnecessarily leads to personal expense burden on them. Whether it is to buy new clothes for themselves or their children, new electronic devices, new needed furniture such as beds, stoves or dressers or simply having to redo the entire process for getting back important documentation that are needed to move from point A to point B whether in the form of passports, birth certificates etc. The Participate in Jamaica Movement will be rolling out its community cleanup program AKA "CCUPs" in short order. This program will move through communities, town and cities and conduct vigorous and extensive cleaning programs. These cleanups are inclusive of:
1. Removal of litter from upper surface areas. 2. Removal of garbage from drains and gullies.
3.Planting of garbage containers at strategic location to encourage persons to dispose resourcefully.
4. Conducting Mosquito Eradication Programs AKA "MEPs"
5. Sensitizing persons on how to effectively dispose of garbage and the importance of doing so.
These are a few of the techniques and strategies that we will be utilizing to ensure that this job is done.
This is geared at ensuring that persons do not suffer unnecessary expenses and they are able to live in cleaner and healthier environments.
To achieve these objectives; we will be relying on the support of communities which is inclusive but not limited to the Member of Parliament, Councillor, the Community President and the Youth President for the community. External reliance will be dependent upon groups, movements, foundations, organization, etc. #PIJAM #noproblemsjustsolutions #love. Join? 🤝
