TOP 5 (5🌟) reads of 2023 ✨

In no particular order, these are my top 5 reads for 2023. I am always drawn to the dark academia genre and thrillers mysteries. And these 5 books seem to speak to my soul (a bit of exaggeration there but you know what I mean).
Book review for these books are posted here on my bookstagram, feel free to check them out. If you're interested and looking for your next read, I'm recommending these books. 🤍

I also have many amazing reads this year such as TKAM, The Kite Runner, Marikit & The Ocean of Stars, The Poppy War, Lessons in Chemistry, Finding Me, & Fourth Wing. 📚

#qotd what are your top 5 reads for 2023?

Taking a little break and doing the #ChaptersChallenge 💫

So much fun to answer these questions below, thanks for tagging me @__miwaku_ ♥️

> Short or Long Chapters?
With my attention span (or lack thereof), it’s definitely short! But if a story’s so good, sometimes I don’t notice long chapters!

> Chapter Names or Numbers
Numbers pour moi! Can’t be bothered to remember chapter names ✌🏻

> Multiple or Single POV
Depends on the book! If it has a big cast of characters, then definitely multiple. I also appreciate a multiple POV on a romance from time to time, but I don’t mind singles as well.

> Stop in the middle or end the chapter?
Preferably end the chapter! But lately, I’ve been finding myself stopping mid-chapter because I’ve fallen asleep. Über tired lately 😅

> Do you check the chapter length before reading?
Nope, not really. But if I’m mid-read, I sometimes check how long it takes to finish the chapter.

> Bookmark, dog ear or dust jacket?
Bookmark girlie over here 🤷🏻‍♀️

> What was the latest you stayed up reading?
If I really liked a book & I’m at my leisure, I can go until the next day!

> Has “one more chapter” turned into reading the whole book?
Oh yeah, especially when I was younger! Now… I have to manage my time.. but it happens every now and then. It’s a welcome feeling 🫶🏻

Tagging friends who might wanna join in on the challenge but as per ush, no pressure! 💬

🪐☕️ 💌 book haul & #readinghabitschallenge

hii, posting two days in a row who. am. i???

i went to a second-hand book store (again) and got some really nice books, so here’s a tiny (??) book haul!! i’m so excited to read victory city by salman rushdie, he might just be my most anticipated author in the longest time. also, really really excited to read blind assassin by margaret atwood; this book has been in my tbr for a few years now. i have heard only good things about zadie smith so i’m hoping i really enjoy white teeth as well. if you’ve read any of these books, please let me know what you thought of them <3

i was tagged for the #readinghabitschallenge by @louann.bookworm thank you so much for tagging me!! 🧡

🪐 favourite genres—
literary fiction, historical fiction, fantasy and classics

🪐 genres i avoid—
self-help and sometimes romance

🪐 worst reading habit—
i read the last sentence of books as soon as i start them and, if i get too restless, i start reading random lines from the middle.

🪐 do i read the synopsis—
yes, unless it’s an author i know and who’s works i would like to explore further.

🪐 favourite way to read—
i like to read in absolute silence, but sometimes i do play book and/or author specific playlists in the background because it really sets the mood.

i’ve tagged a few people for this challenge but everyone is free to do it!!! i would love to read all of your answers 🤧
i will also get to all the other tags super soon, august is finally over and i’m feeling very motivated!

i hope everyone has a great september <33
