What an opening!

Thank you all who dropped by on friday and saturday, I’ve had amazing conversations 🙏🏻

And a special thanks goes to @ronmandos and the @ronmandos.youngbloodfoundation for making the Best of Graduates exhibition at @galerieronmandos possible!

The show will be on till the 30th of august, so still plenty of time to drop by. Please let me know if you are thinking of visiting the show so I can be present and tell you all about my work.

Congratulations to @tomasallsop for winning the Ron Mandos Young Blood award! And of course all the other artists on this wonderful show:))

Kimsooja: To Breathe - Mokum
Oh what a night at the Oude Kerk . South Korean artist Kimsooja turns the light inside the Oude Kerk into a moving masterpiece. Her vibrant Bottari bundles—made from traditional Korean wrapping cloths (used to carry precious belongings while traveling) filled with donated clothes from Amsterdam’s diverse communities—celebrate the city’s rich history of migration and connection.
A poetic spotlight on where they’ve been—and where they’re going.

Big thanks to Marriete Dölle, Boris Vervoordt and to Marc & @jannekedreesmann for the very special evening.

Wonder Wall #86

Famished Road by @ibrahimmahama3 at @museumvoorlinden

A wall of 2,000 stacked wooden shoeshine boxes. Each box carries a history – of work, trade and migration. Artist Ibrahim Mahama collected and crafted theses boxes together with a community of migrant workers in Ghana, exchanging stories along the way.

Mega hyped to welcome Art Fix members to Rijksmuseum Twenthe last weeked, to experience Chasing the Dot. Thrilled to collaborate with Art Fix on a new work.

You Are Here Too (2024) is the result of extensive studio research on color, material, and light, aiming to “freeze” the dot that emerges in one’s field of perception when immersed in the Ganzfeld environment of Chasing the Dot. The sculpture explores fluid color transitions, with light slowly pulsing through a spectrum, inviting a unique play of perception and spatial awareness.

Coming soon: You Are Here Too (2024), a light sculpture building on You Are Here (2024). Follow @artfix to stay in the loop on this upcoming release!
