Yaşar Vurdem (@yvurdem ) is a Turkish illustrator and digital artist whose work has been featured in collaborations with @billieeilish , @adobe , @wacom , and @monsternotebook . He has worked on fantasy film projects such as The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Citadel, and The Wheel of Time. His opulent portrait works reflect his traditional painting background, penchant for lavish texture, and sharp attention to detail.

The proliferation of AI generated imagery has resulted in a unique struggle impacting digital artists: they must now compete with AI for visibility and opportunities, while at the same time proving that their own work is not AI generated. This has resulted in a myriad of issues, ranging from employment loss to mental health struggles. Modern Digital Collective petitions society to reignite interest in the value of art as a uniquely human practice that cannot be replicated in any real way by a machine, regardless of how advanced the technology might be.

Mariia Bulgakova (@bastetmary) is a Bulgaria-based illustrator, concept artist, and Art Lead focusing on the fantasy genre. Her narrative-driven digital paintings manage to be both fierce and dreamy, featuring polychrome feminine characters that are larger than life. Her work has been featured in @imaginefxmagazine , @365artplus_magazine , BUBU Art Magazine, and The Ultimate Guide to Fantasy Art, and she is actively open to new opportunities as an Art Lead in the gaming development industry. Her instructional art book, “Digital Portraits in Procreate,” will release in December 2026.

Dani Julian (@daniquickdraw ) is a California-based gallery artist whose work uniquely merges Magical Realism, Lowbrow Pop-Surrealism, and Fantasy. Her figurative paintings integrate romantic and archaic art influences with contemporary urban aesthetics and identity, exploring the fluidity of selfhood within underground cultures and the dynamics of human connection, creating works that are both timeless and defiantly of the moment. Her works have been exhibited by galleries in the USA, Japan, and Europe, and she is a resident artist with two galleries in Los Angeles. She is also a bestselling author of dark

As generative AI continues to evolve, Modern Digital Collective (MDC) is determined to be on the front lines of the discussion, keeping human artists who create via digital means in the public view. Regardless of the program used to render their masterpieces, it is now more important than ever for digital artists to share the human narrative behind their works. Modern Digital Collective looks to share knowledge, correct misunderstandings, and ensure that future generations of creators find their own unique voice.

Sara Lee’s (@sblarts) pop-infused paintings bring the exploration of mental health to vibrant life. By juxtaposing spirited graphic elements with gently curving figurative forms and her signature soft rosy cheeks, she brings a vision of femininity that feels both tender and bold. Her intensely hued illustrations have graced the pages of numerous exceptional publications such as @beautifulbizarremagazine, @infected_by_art, and @newvisionarymag, inviting the viewer to ponder their own unique human struggles.

Iranian artist Farnoosh Aryan’s (@farnoosh.aryan) paintings are a testament to the resilience of her nation and people. Living and creating in Iran, she has endured the dual pressures of severe internal socio-political restraints and suffocating international sanctions, producing work so highly detailed and visually arresting that it has transcended these barriers. For Farnoosh, digital painting is not simply an aesthetic medium; it is a vital tool for survival and a means to ensure that her beloved homeland’s silent struggles are given permanent, visible form. Farnoosh has been a finalist for the Beautiful Bizarre Art Prize, and her works have been featured in noteworthy publications like @el_pais, Beautiful Bizarre, and @thewrong.biennale.

“Güçten İlham Alanlar” serimizin yeni bölümünde, dijital çizim sanatçısı @yvurdem’in karakalemden suluboyaya, oradan da dijital ekrana uzanan ilham verici dönüşümüne tanıklık ediyoruz.

This drawing was an exercise in details, made from a reference photo that I found on Pinterest. I had been wanting to do a super close up for some time, and this example was just what I had been looking for.
A huge thank you to my super talented artist friend @yvurdem, who came along at just the right time and introduced me to his Ultimate Digital Painting Course. Using the techniques I learned from him, I was able to create this drawing in about half the time I typically spend. Wow!
Oh, and if anyone cares, there’s an easter egg, (something hidden) in this drawing. It was totally unplanned, just something I saw in the reference photo. Did you find it?😃
