Okayyyy, the Triad foodies!! 👀🌭🇲🇽

Cody and I came to Noche de Baile for one reason… the famous Mexican footlong hot dog at Algo Rico! Wrapped in bacon, loaded with toppings, and finished with homemade chimichurri. 🤌🏽🔥

And don’t sleep on the quesabirria, tacos, and torta either!

@algorico_mexfood 📍 check out their page for locations

Be honest… are you trying the footlong?! 👇🏽

I am still shocked by how many women have been physically hurt by men. It absolutely needs to stop. That’s why I’m so passionate about this project… I want to spread awareness and help women know they are not alone. @ywcanashville provides resources and support and they also have a men’s program helping men with their emotions, getting to the root cause of abuse. It so important.

You can now steam “Know It’s Not This” anywhere you listen to music💖

Meet the VISTAs 👋🏽

Swipe through to meet our 2026-27 AmeriCorps VISTA Cohort, all working to build capacity and empower our community!

Each slide shares who we are, where we’re serving and why we said yes to service!

#americorpsvista #meetthevistas #hpucce

Meet Aunna!

Hometown: Northern Virginia

Site: @greaterhighpointfoodalliance

Why service?: There is always a way to help others, and non-profit work and community outreach have always interested me. At my host site, I'm most excited to build connections in the community and watch our service make a difference in people’s lives.

Meet our returner, Christian!

Hometown: Greensboro, NC

Site: @megamissionministrieshp

Why service?: This is my second VISTA term, and I'm back at my former Bonner site, where I served as an undergraduate. I'm excited to carry the skills and experiences from my first term serving into my work with Mega Mission Ministries and the CWC. The challenge is that I've returned in a more “behind the scenes” role rather than a hands on one. But my responsibilities as a VISTA let me target foundational issues in the community, mainly student education and learning retention, which is one of my focuses this year.

Meet Dani!

Hometown: Greensboro, NC

Site: @cisofhp

Why service?: I decided to commit a year of service to give back to my community and learn from it about the challenges we can overcome through collaboration, creativity, and persistence. I'm excited to begin developing our School Resource Room for community members and to learn how to create sustainable systems that contribute to the CIS mission.

Meet Madison!

Hometown: Greenwood, MS

Site: @hpu_cce

Why service?: I believe service is what truly connects us. It's an intimacy that comes from meeting someone's needs while learning who they are: their story and their passions. I'm most excited to build more meaningful relationships between the local High Point community and the High Point University community.

Meet Muneeba!

Hometown: High Point, NC

Site: @ywcahp

Why service?: I chose to serve because I want to give back to my community while growing personally and professionally. I'm excited to build meaning

Hispanic Heritage Month is an opportunity to celebrate the stories, traditions, and contributions that help make High Point such a vibrant place to call home. 🌟

Every city is shaped by the people who call it home. In High Point, Hispanic neighbors, business owners, artists, leaders, and families help make our community richer, more welcoming, and more connected.

This month is an opportunity to slow down and learn the stories around us. Attend a program at the YWCA Latino Family Center. Support a local business. Strike up a conversation. Take time to learn about the people whose experiences, traditions, and contributions are woven into the fabric of our city.

We believe pride of place starts with knowing one another. And when we take the time to listen, learn, and connect, we discover even more reasons to love High Point. ❤️
