Aligarh ki tareekh mein talaba ki awaaz sirf campus tak mehdood nahi rahi. Behas, mukalma aur apni baat ke liye kharay hona hamesha se is riwayat ka hissa raha hai.

1953 mein Sultan Niazi ka Britain, Ireland aur Scotland ka debating safar isi riwayat ki ek dilchasp misaal hai. Mukhtalif universities mein debates mein shirkat aur unki salahiyat ke i'tiraf mein Cambridge University ki taraf se Honorary Member ki haisiyat milna, Aligarh ke ek talib-e-ilm ke liye ek aham maqam tha.

Sultan Niazi ka safar Aligarh ki us riwayat ki ek misaal hai jahan talaba ko apni baat kehne, behas karne aur apni soch ka izhar karne ka mauqa milta raha hai.

Kya hum us riwayat ko aage le jaane ke liye waqai kuch kar rahe hain?

AMUSU has always stood as a voice for the voiceless and a support system for the weak, oppressed, and marginalized. Its commitment to women’s participation and representation reflects a legacy that goes beyond student politics, drawing inspiration from Bi Amma, a driving force behind the Khilafat Movement. It is about ensuring that women have a place and a voice in shaping their future.

The AMU Students’ Union has been a part of our university’s history since 1920, and its legacy means a lot to us. It has given students a platform to express their views, take part in debates, and stand up for what they believe in. From its traditions and cultural activities to its role in student movements, the Union has always been more than just an organisation. I believe it is important to preserve this legacy, revive our traditions, and keep the spirit of student unity alive for generations to come.

step forward, take part in the elections, and make your voice count.#

Long before Aligarh Muslim University became the institution we know today, its students were already learning the art of questioning, debating and making their voices heard.

The roots of our Student Union go back to 1883, when the Siddons Union Club was established during the Muhammadan Anglo Oriental College era. At a time when India was still under British rule, students in Aligarh were discussing subjects as bold as freedom of the press, women’s education, religion and politics.

More than a century later, the legacy continues.

The Aligarh Muslim University Students’ Union is not merely a body of elected representatives. It is a reminder of what Sir Syed Ahmad Khan envisioned for generations to come. An institution where education goes beyond classrooms, where disagreement is not disrespect, and where students are encouraged to think, question and speak for themselves.

Because Aligarh has never been just about finding your voice. It has also been about learning how to raise it with tahzeeb.

Aapko kya lagta hai, aaj ki students’ politics mein woh tahzeeb aur tehzeebi behas kitni baaqi hai?
