“Life is coming from you and not at you”

I don’t typically put much thought into the end of a year or the beginning of another. After all, humans just created these things.

Year in and out, I just want to be a person who makes a positive impact on others’ lives, and make some tough years a little brighter.

I burned out about 9 months ago, and felt like I was far from being that person. I was at my heaviest, stressed, lacking creativity and focus, anxious and easily overwhelmed. There was a lot of change in the following months all around me. Come July and work brought me back to where all my dreams started, my hometown. I felt like myself for the first time in a while, but it didn’t last.

The beginning of fall, I finally took an initiative to get some mental health help for myself so I can be the Drew I have always loved. With support from my wonderful wife and friends.

I’m off to being the person I want to be again, optimistic, kind and joyful. I’m a better partner and friend. I’m working out and playing soccer regularly, and have lost 30 pounds since August.
