Our Kamloops Mamas for Mamas Branch is pausing collecting donations at this time. Once we have capacity to collect donations again, we will gratefully accept your beautiful donations and put out donation bins once more.

To our community partners who have hosted one of our donation bins during the past 2-3 years, we thank you for your tremendous support, and the opportunity to have a space in your beautiful businesses. We have loved the relationships that have been built with all of you - thank you ❤️

Back to School is around the corner - and for many families, it’s not just stressful, it’s unaffordable. 🎒💸

This year, Sprott Shaw College Kamloops is stepping up in a big way with a Back to School Donation Drive in support of Mamas for Mamas Kamloops.

📅 August 8th
🕗 8AM–1PM
📍Drop-off at Sprott Shaw College (3rd Floor, 340 Victoria St) or Zaaz Play Cafe (380 Victoria St - undergoing renovations but still accepting donations!)

They’re collecting NEW items for local families in need of a hand up:
✅ New Backpacks, lunchkits, water bottles, ice packs
✅ Non-perishable school snacks & breakfast items
✅ New School supplies (binders, notebooks, paper, pens, etc.)
✅ New Light jackets, shoes, hats, socks
✅ Store gift cards for back-to-school shopping

🏆 Enter to win a $125 Save-On Gift Card if you donate an item(s) from the list above!

📊 The average Canadian family spends over $700 per child on back-to-school essentials - and that number is only climbing with rising costs. More and more parents are having to make impossible choices between groceries, rent, and school supplies.

Let’s come together to make sure every kid heads back to school with confidence and the essentials they need to thrive.

💛 Thank you, Sprott Shaw College, for being a community champion.

We had our highest-attended Pop-Up Karma Market yet. 💛

Over 70 families came through last night in Kamloops - each one seeking support with essentials like diapers, formula, hygiene items, and food.

The need is growing. 💔
In Canada, 1 in 5 children lives in poverty. Diapers alone can cost up to $100 a month per child. Formula is now over $50+ a can. Food bank use has hit record highs - with 2 million visits in a single month nationwide.

We want to thank:
🩷 Every family who showed up — you’re not alone.
🩷 Every person who donated items to stock our shelves.
🩷 Our incredible volunteers who hustle hard behind the scenes to make these events happen with compassion and care.
🩷 @thetree_kamloops for donating their beautiful space for this event!

At Mamas for Mamas Kamloops, we believe no one should have to choose between buying diapers or paying rent. No parent should have to dilute formula or skip meals so their kids can eat. This reality is why our Kamloops Branch has organized 3 of these Karma Market events this year, to ensure no family is left behind 💕

🌿 Zaaz Goes Green! 💡

Today we helped @zaazplaycafe achieve a brighter and more energy-efficient future by replacing over 150 outdated, mismatched, and failing fluorescent bulbs with crisp, clean LED lighting.

This simple switch is saving over 2.6 kilowatts of energy every hour the lights are on — that’s like turning off 26 desktop computers every hour! ⚡🌍

Not only is Zaaz now lit with consistent, modern lighting, but they’re also reducing their environmental impact in a meaningful way.

✨ Better light.
🌱 Lower energy use.
⚡ MXS Electric brings the power — efficiently.

Let’s Help Rebuild the Village – Support Zaaz! 💛
If you haven’t heard of Zaaz Eatery & Play, they’re a locally owned play café that opened in Kamloops just a few months before we did in 2022! Their magical indoor village is filled with kid-sized versions of real community businesses—including a mini Nutters Health Food Store. 🛒💚
When they first opened, Samantha invited Nutters to be part of their village because of our shared love for healthy living and shopping local—and we were honoured to be one of their partners. They’ve also been incredible supporters of our business since day one.
Sadly, after the Red Bridge fire, Zaaz faced a huge drop in business and had to close their original location—but Kamloops rallied behind them. Thanks to all that love and support, they’re now rebuilding in a new downtown space! 🙌
To help bring their village back to life (and better than ever!), we’re running a fundraiser in store through April 30:
✨ We’ll donate 15% of every regular-priced purchase to Zaaz—just mention the fundraiser at checkout so we can track it!
Whether you’re a longtime Nutters shopper or visiting us for the first time, your support helps bring a one-of-a-kind space back to Kamloops kids. Let’s show up for Zaaz the way they’ve always shown up for us. 💛

Got Snacks? We are hoping to provide some much needed relief to families experiencing the cost of living crunch, by collecting school snacks, diapers, pull-ups, formula, wipes and other baby/kid essentials for our Match 8th Karma Market event @tumbleweedtoys.

Every donation of these essential items is so appreciated, and stays local, helping families in Kamloops & the surrounding areas.

We are especially hoping to collect school snacks, and baby/kid snacks, to provide for free at this event. If you are in a position to donate, please reach out to us or drop a new donation in one of our donation bins around town (see 2nd slide). We also have an Amazon Wishlist (link in bio) that we will update with snack options that can be delivered right to a Mamas volunteer who will bring to the event! Tax receipts are available!

If you drop off a new donation on Saturday between 10-12 to @tumbleweedtoys upstairs event space, you will be entered to win a photography package by @marikofujimoto photography!

A BIG Thank you to the incredible donor(s) who saw our post today and dropped off school snacks in our @modern_family_boutique bin today! This was an amazing gift, which will help so many families ❤️

Thank you Kamloops for showing up & helping ensure no family is left behind ❤️
