Building a team. Building a community.

Yesterday’s Meet & Greet was a great reminder of what Hudson Havoc hockey is all about. A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by to meet the players, talk hockey, and support the start of something special here in Hudson.

A special shoutout to Owen, a first-year squirt with Hudson, who was fired up to meet the guys and get his cards signed. Moments like that are exactly why we do this. 🙌

Thank you to John Sittig, Alex Bardykin, Bentley Sathre, Zach Klecker, Henry Lynch, Will Anderson, and Mike Ertle for spending time with the community and representing the Havoc the right way.

We’re just getting started. See you at the rink soon, Hudson.

WHAT:
Net drive under pressure with a backchecker hunting from behind 🏒💨 Player attacks the net for a cross-ice feed while fighting through sticks, body contact, and pressure to finish in tight 🚨

HOW:
Attackers have to explode through the middle lane, establish inside body positioning, and arrive at the net with their feet moving. The passer must identify the timing window and thread a pass through traffic into a high-danger area 🎯 The focus is on receiving in motion, handling pressure from behind, protecting the puck, and finishing quickly around the crease.

WHY:
This is hockey. Chaos. Traffic. Pressure. Compete. ⚡️

At higher levels, nobody gets free ice. The best players separate themselves by being able to attack inside ice, handle contact, and still execute at full speed 💪

Learning how to create offense through pressure instead of away from it is what translates to games.

Most goals aren’t highlight-reel rushes from the outside. They come from winning body position, getting to the paint, and finishing through layers of pressure 🥅🔥

Train skills with purpose.
Train details at speed.
Train for the reality of the game. 🚨👊

Retrieval → Escape → Re-attack 🔁

WHAT
Retrieve a rim from the point, make an escape move down low, move it back up top, follow your pass and get it back for a quick turnaround shot.

HOW
Pick the puck up with your feet moving and shoulder check early
Use deception and tight edgework to create space down low
Get the puck up to the point with pace and timing
Follow your pass immediately, be ready for the return
Catch and release quick with your feet still moving

WHY
This translates directly to game situations
You’re working on puck retrievals, escaping pressure, and creating offense off broken plays
Teaches timing, support, and quick strike ability after regaining possession

🚨 AFFILIATE PLAYER 🚨

Welcome Zach Klecker to Hudson Havoc 🐺🔥

“Zach is an extremely mature player and person for his age. The first time I had him on the ice, it was hard to believe he was 2–3 years younger than the rest of the group. His strength, skating ability, and hockey IQ are well beyond his years, which is a big reason we made it a priority to get him in the door at such a young age.

Zach has already put up 71 points in 79 high school games heading into his senior season, and he’s just getting started. Having Zach train and play with us is going to be an incredible experience for him and will put him well ahead of his high school peers.”
- Head Coach Russell Barone

Excited to have you in Hudson. Let’s get to work 💪
